My husband Greg, our four kids and I built this cabin in the woods of Kentucky ourselves! In the heart of Red River Gorge this hand hewn log cabin provides a quintessential Kentucky woodland experience. Secluded in the trees, with no other buildings in sight this cabin is surrounded by natural beauty. The cabin is situated in 14 acres of pristine wilderness. The back of the property is a cliff. A short steep hike to the top of the cliff affords breathtaking views, and miles of hiking trails. While the cabin resembles an old pioneer home, the inside has central heating and air, and all the modern comforts and amenities
This is a hikers and climbers paradise with easy access to miles of trails and multiple climbing spots. A half mile from Martins Fork Trail Head and minutes from Daniel Boone National Forest - Gladie Visitor Center, Indian Creek camping area and Natural Bridge State Park. This is the heart of the Red River Gorge. Miguel's Pizza, 10 mins away is famous for its home made pizzas and climbers vibe, and there are a few other restaurants, coffee shops, souvenir and small grocery shops nearby.
Snowy Owl is only 5 minutes from the Nada Tunnel and 10 minutes from the Mountain Parkway at Slade. Snowy Owl is half a mile from Martins Fork Trail Head with incredible hiking to Greys Arch, Auxier Ridge and Raven Rock right off the property. Several climbing spots are accessible within a mile radius of the cabin. Nestled in a peaceful wooded setting the cabin has the feeling of absolute seclusion and privacy.
The gravel track leading to the cabin is narrow and steep. 4 wheel drive is recommended if you would like to park at the cabin, otherwise we suggest you park at the bottom of the hill and walk up the drive.
