We live in an historic brick row-house in Jersey City, NJ, built in the 1850’s, with many original details but just as many modern upgrades. It’s 4 stories, with plenty of stairs, so not for anyone with limited mobility. We have 3 bedrooms, 1 with a king sized bed, 1 with a single bed and trundle, and 1 with a single bed. We also have an inflatable mattress if needed, and a portable crib (and other baby items).
Our neighborhood, Hamilton Park (named for the lovely urban park 1 block away) is part of downtown Jersey City, immediately across the Hudson River from downtown Manhattan. It’s a very walkable area, with cafes, restaurants, and many shops just steps away, as well as a shopping mall. The underground PATH train is an easy 10 minute walk from our house, and brings you to Battery Park, Greenwich Village, and the Chelsea neighborhoods of NYC in a few short stops. Buses and Ubers are also conveniently located.
