What you will love about this home

Our home was built in the early 1930s as a dwelling for people who worked in the nearby port of Dun Laoghaire. I bought my home last year and have just completed renovating it. The house is in a very settled community of families who would have lived in this area for many years. My home has all mod cons i.e television, sound system, DVD, broadband internet access etc. It is a family friendly house in south county Dublin, and has easy access to Dublin City Centre by rail or bus. Our comfortable home has, on the ground floor, a spacious, bright lounge and dining area with a modern kitchen leading to the garden and patio, a second living room, a single room with a pullout mattress to make a double bed and a bathroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double, one twin. The back garden is east facing and gets sun most of the day.

What you will love about this neighborhood

The famous Dun Laoghaire Pier is a five minute walk from our front door. We are also a ten minute walk from Sandycove Beach and the famous swimming area in the sea known as the forty foot, this spot was a part of Chapter one of James Joyce's Ulysses. Glasthule, Blackrock and Dalkey are around the corner and are crammed with bespoke boutiques, cafes and restaurants. We are quite close to the centre of town. Dublin's over-ground metro, the Dart, is a short walk, around 10 mins. It takes about 20 mins to get to the city centre on Dart. Alternatively, there is a Bus Stop which serves the city centre 2 mins from our house. We are very close to Wicklow, which has many tourist attractions such as Enniskerry, Powerscourt Gardens, Mount Usher Gardens, Glendalough and beautiful mountain scenery.
