Our home is our favourite place for rest and relaxation. Situated in the countryside 10 minutes drive from Sligo town in Ireland on a culdesac to the sea. Sea views on 2 sides. On a quiet lane suitable for kids to cycle and walk. We have a beautiful garden full of blackcurrants, raspberries, gooseberry, rocket, chard, spinach, lettuce, onions in summer and apples in september for you to feast on during your holiday.
We have trampoline, scooters, adult and child bicycles, surf boards, kids body boards and 2 sea kayaks for you to enjoy all the waters around us. The House we designed and built ourselves in 2010 it is 2 story but is still like new now 12 years old. Nestled in trees with birds singing daily and zero noise of traffic and zero pollution. We are very clean, tidy and housproud. We hope to swap with families with children similar ages and stages to ourselves during school holidays only.
Our home is in Carney Village, Co Sligo, Ireland. The village is 5mins walk from us. It has a shop, 2 pubs, a Chinese takeaway and a restaurant. We live in scenic north west of Ireland surrounded by sea and Benbulben mountain, we spend a lot of time outdoors and exploring beaches, walks, countryside when we are off. We can help you get the most out of your trip to Ireland. If you love the outdoors you will be very happy here. Horseriding, Stand Up Paddling, Surfing, Mountain climbing, Hiking, lots of woods and beautiful beaches and walks. We live surrounded by two magnificent mountains Benbulben and Knocknarea as well as sea on two sides and we live on a quiet rural cul-de-sac that goes right down to a seashore on both sides. Great for walks picnics or toasting marshmallows over a camp fire :) We live 10 mins drive from Sligo town. Sligo has about 25,000k people. It has a cinema, a library, many restaurants, clothes shops, coffee shops, lots of pubs, late bars and nightclubs. Knock airport is 50mins drive. Dublin or Belfast airport 2hours 45mins from us.
Please ensure that indoor shoes are worn when in house, no outdoor shoes on carpeted area in house (stairs/ upstairs)
Please make sure that doors and windows are closed/locked when you are in the house aswell as when you are leaving.
Electricity and Gas is very expensive in Ireland so please turn off lights/TVs when not in use or needed.
We use Oil to heat the water in the Winter and the Solar Panels on the roof heat the water in the Summer. Usually in the Summer we don’t need any heat on and there will be plenty of water all day and night. In winter we set a timer in the pantry for the oil to come on to heat the house and water for an hour in morning, afternoon and evening. The fire also heats house and water. We will leave full instructions for how our heating, recycling, bins etc operate.
We ask you water all our indoor plants and garden veg in summer and feed Wilbur the cat and Shelly the dog a minuture jack russell. Both so friendly and love kids.
