My boyfriend and I both love cats. Getting the chance to meet more cats and be their friends for some days is always something we are looking forward to. If we are in doubt between two options to stay at, we’ll always pick the home with cats.

Especially during longer stays it’s fun to really get to know them. One time, we spent two weeks at one place and at first one of the cats was really shy. Because we spent more time there, she got the time to adjust to our presence and ended up being really cuddly by the time we left.

How do I find a pet sitting exchange?

Join our discussion groups

Find members who are looking for someone to look after their pets during a home exchange by joining the “Dog lovers” and/or “Cat lovers” groups from your HomeExchange profile.

Use the “Reverse search” filter

With the reverse search filter, you can identify members looking for an exchange in your area. This gives you the opportunity to contact pet owners who may be looking for someone to care for their animals and who could be a great match for your home.

Reassure your hosts during the exchange

In your exchange requests, let your host know that you’re happy to look after their pets, be sure to follow all instructions, and don’t hesitate to check in with them often — or even send a few photos!
