Lo que te va a encantar en esta casa
Manoir Saussus is an historic petit chateau in the heart of Pauillac (in the Medoc, in the Bordeaux wine region). It was built in the mid 19th century and is comprised of a main house, two wings, tower, stables and a 1 acre garden with pool. When we bought it in 2016, it was derelict, and we have spent the past couple of years restoring it to its former glory, with limed French oak floors and cappuccino marble bathrooms. So far, we have finished the main house, and have landscaped the garden and pool.
Lo que te va a encantar del barrio
Pauillac is in the Medoc, the Left Bank of the Bordeaux wine region, and is arguably the world's greatest wine village. Manoir Saussus has views of Premier Cru property Chateau Latour, and Deuxieme Cru castles Pichon Baron and Pichon Comtesse. It overlooks the vineyards of Chateau Lynch-Bages and the Gironde estuary.

If you like great wine, then Pauillac is the place for you. It is home to 3 of the 5 Bordeaux Premier Cru (First Growths) - Chateau Latour, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild and Chateau Mouton-Rothschild - as well another 30+ fairytale wine chateaux. All are open for tours and tastings throughout of the year (many of them free). If that is not enough for you, we are just a 5-10 minute drive from other great Medoc appellations St-Julien and St-Estephe, and 25 mins from Margaux.
If that is not enough for you, Manoir Saussus is a short trip from a number of excellent golf courses, including France's best - Des Chateaux - at the Golf du Medoc complex, and some fabulous courses by the coast at Lacanau.
Speaking of which, Pauillac is 30-35 minutes from some the expansive, sandy surf beaches of the Atlantic. If you prefer your waves a little gentler, it's 25 minutes to the beaches around France's largest lake at Hourtin. A little further afield is Cap Ferret, Europe's answer to Martha's Vineyard. Well worth a visit to experience its laid-back charm, and to sample its oysters pulled straight out of the Bassin d' Arcachon.
If you're in search of a little culture, Bordeaux (with it's international airport) is 50 minutes away. This stunning city boasts world-class architecture at its UNESCO sites, top-class opera and museums, and wonderful parks, markets, cafes and restaurants. It's both a truly vibrant and historic place.
