Was Sie an dieser Unterkunft lieben werden

It is a lovely, comfortable home which feels new as it has only been used for holidays, with all the important amenities one would expect from a holiday house. Downstairs, you have open living, with a large kitchen and living room. There is also a separate toilet and a laundry room, with an additional fridge. The main bedroom is downstairs, with an en-suite bathroom and a small walk-in wardrobe. Upstairs is for the children, with two medium size bedrooms, wardrobes and a bathroom. One of the best things about being there, is simply enjoying the peace and quite of sitting on the terrace with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and absorbing the views. It is our holiday home, so it is equipped with many kid's toys, DVDs and accessories such as play pen and a cot. The climate is good, with lots of sunshine and blue skies, and although it can get hot during the summer months, it cools down quickly in the evening and is very comfortable outside or to sleep without airconditioning. Please read the rest of the information we have provided about our house as we only do a minimum of 6 nights for points and we do charge a cleaning fee.

We chose Orpierre because it is a fantastic place for holidays and also as it happens, for rock climbing, which has been our passion for the past thirty years. Most importantly, it is a holiday destination for many families from all over Europe, climbers or not, so it has a fantastic atmosphere, particularly during spring and autumn (when it's quieter) and summer, when it gets more busy. There are local markets, live music, people playing 'boules', very typical of French country life. The village dates back to the 13th century, with old buildings, fountains and narrow streets. There is a tourist office, small supermarket, a swimming pool, a bar, a restaurant and a bike rental shop. Within 10/15 minute drive there is a small lake (Plan d'eau du Riou) and a few minutes further, is an outdoor water park La Germanette. Both great for families offering water sports, restaurant/food kiosk and other amenities, all within a beautiful mountain setting. This area of France has so much to offer. It is a mecca for walking, road cycling, mountain biking (Mont Ventoux is 80 kms away). On the opposite side of the valley, the mountain ridge, visible from one of the photos, is one of the best places in Europe for for air sports like hang-gliding and parasailing and often in summer you can see dozens of people flying high above the mountain range and the village. If you are not that adventurous, it is simply a great place to drive to or walk along/mountain bike. About 30 minutes from Orpierre is Sisteron, a medieval town, on the Route du Napoleon, with all the attractions of a historical French town, in a beautiful setting.

The house is closed over winter and when we open it again in spring, it will only be available for a minimum of six days.
