Our referral program is very important and we want to make it easier, more fun and more effective to invite your friends to join the HomeExchange community. When you encourage your friends to start exchanging, you contribute to making the HomeExchange community more secure, friendly, and trustworthy.
We have been working on some improvements to our referral program. The first big change is that the referral program now grants you the following GuestPoints:
250 GP for you, for each friend who joins your HomeExchange from your referral.
250 GP for your friend, to make it easier to organize their first exchange and for you to convince them!
HOW THE GUESTPOINTS ARE GIVEN
Having a high quality communication is really important, because we want a committed community with members who have a genuine interest in exchanging their home. Therefore, GuestPoints are distributed as follows:
250 GP FOR YOU
- 50 GP when your friend completes their home listing
- 200 GP when your friend completes their first exchange (as a guest) or activates their membership
250 GP FOR YOUR FRIENDS
- 100 GP when they complete their home
- 150 GP when their finalize their first exchange (as a guest) or activate their membership

We agree: convincing a friend to start exchanging their home often requires lots of conversation, coffee, and answering questions. We know that you do it with a lot of passion and dedication and we love to reward you for it. Thank you!

A QUALITY COMMUNITY
One of our goals is to have a high-quality community, with members who sign up because they want to start making home exchanges.
Previously, GuestPoints were obtained when a friend signed up (25 GP) and when they sent a message (100 GP).
Now, we reward only those who truly believe in home swapping and want to share their home with other HomeExchangers. So we give GuestPoints at two important markers that confirm the interest of a HomeExchanger: when they complete their listing (50 GP) and when they are ready to do an exchange and activate their membership (200 GP).
IS IT COUNTERPRODUCTIVE TO GIVE SO MANY GUESTPOINTS?
We give more GuestPoints to those who really want to exchange, but actually there will be far fewer new GuestPoints in circulation with these changes.
HOW CAN YOU INVITE YOUR FRIENDS AND RECEIVE GUESTPOINTS?
Visit the HomeExchange referral page in the top menu of HomeExchange.com website. Once there, you will see three possible options:
- Copy your unique referral link. You can send it to anyone via Whatsapp, email, text, or your preferred contact method. Anyone who signs up through this link will count as having been referred by you.
- Enter the email address of your friends. We will send them an automatic email with information about HomeExchange as well as your unique referral link.
- Share your referral link via social media. If you have recently referred someone but you do not see the GuestPoints reflected in your account and you think this friend has not used your referral link by mistake, contact us.
