Prince Edward Island

Nova-Scotia

A contemporary gem just 40 minutes from Halifax, Valentine's "box house" is a peaceful residence at the end of a private road, on a little peninsula that stretches out into the bay.  This home offers a respite from city life for all nature lovers. British Columbia

Marcie's treehouse was built by her husband Peter, a talented timber framer, artist and wildlife enthusiast. Heavily inspired by the fantasy world of Harry Potter, this masterpiece presents an original design with beautiful wood accents in every room. The cabin can accommodate up to 13 people with its four bedrooms, each with an independent entrance. Not far from Shuswap Lake, and only five minutes from a local winery, this cabin has something to entertain each member of the family!

Perched above Queen Charlotte, Donna and John's cedar house resembles a yurt and offers panoramic views of the harbor, ocean, and islands. The house has a chef's kitchen, an expansive terrace, a mezzanine bedroom, and a bathroom with a deep soaking bathtub. This beautiful and unique getaway can accommodate up to three people.

United-States

Hawaii

Robert’s Balinese-style home sits on over four acres of gardens and offers a private pool. The private island of Claudia is located in Angra Dos Reis in Brazil about 150 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro airport. You won’t need a car, but don’t forget your diving equipment if you visit this paradise!

COLOMBIA

Michel's villa is close to the Colombian capital of Bogota, a 16th-century colonial city renowned for its rich heritage and sophisticated urban offerings. This colorful house is full of charm and can accommodate up to six people.

GREECE

Julietta’s bright apartment is located in the traditional village of Artemonas, Sifnos, in the Cyclades. The breathtaking view of the island, the sea, and it's beautiful garden pairs perfectly with a morning coffee or a romantic dinner. The city center is within walking distance, as are many small cafes and restaurants. A perfect getaway for couples!

MAROCCO

This beautiful stone country house with typical Riad architecture belongs to Sandra and Soufiane, and sits only 10 minutes from the charming city of Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The house has seven bedrooms and calls to mind Arabian Nights! This magnificent Moroccan Riad guarantees a change of scenery.

ITALY

Located in the region of Apulia in southern Italy, come discover the peculiarities of this Trulli home and the surrounding stone buildings of Alberobello. The owner of this jewel, Giuseppe, describes his house as rustic and close to many sought after places to visit.

French Polynesia

Wake up to the sound of waves at Olivia's hut in the Fakarava village on Tuamotu Island in French Polynesia. With the ocean just in front of you, it'll feel as if you have a private beach all to yourself!

Do you need an atypical house to be a part of the HomeExchange community?

Quick answer...NO!  Unique homes are not a requirement, but they do expand our vacation options.  Many members underestimate just how attractive their home could be.  Size, location, availability, and amenities, are all important when choosing a home exchange, each criterion has a different value for each member.  The sheer diversity of our HomeExchange community is what makes it so attractive and helps in increasing your chances of finding an exchange.

For example, Simone lives in a small condo in the center of Montréal and wants to find a spacious home in Costa Rica, with a pool, where she can stay with her family. Roberto and his wife Maria, are the owners of a villa in Costa Rica and are looking to explore a vibrant city in North America. Despite owning very different homes, Simone and Roberto are ideal candidates for organizing an exchange!
