Kim turns a family trip to Greece into a multi-stop tour of Malta and the Greek islands of Kea and Paros.

How did you find your exchange?

I contacted the other member in search of an exchange.

What attracted you to this exchange opportunity?

We were traveling to Greece for a family birthday, so we built it into a 6 week long trip using 4 home exchanges for a week each stay. Unfortunately the last home exchange at Thimari wasn’t suitable and we mutually agreed to cancel this one. Flexibility is essential in these circumstances.

How was your arrival at the home?

We did Meet one host (the exchange we cancelled).  In Paros and Kea we had representatives meet us and in Malta and we managed the check-in ourselves. I had lengthy discussions by email with all 4 hosts and received wonderful insights and information. The process was easy. I have exchanged many times. Each one is different, but if the communication is good in the lead up, the system works very well.

What did you see or do during your exchange?

Our trip was amazing. The home in Kea was magnificent and we loved relaxing on their wonderful balcony, driving the island and swimming in crystal clear water with uncrowded beaches. Loved Kea!

What to say about Paros, superb! Beautiful home, perfect location, beautiful the village of Naoussa. Very easy to use the public transport. A short ferry ride to Naxos which we loved, and also the beautiful bohemian Anit-Paros.

Then onto Sliema in Malta. Different again, beautiful heritage towns, crystal clear water and a different culture. Loved every place and could have easily spent more time.

What is your favorite memory from the exchange?

Kea and Paros can’t be separated. Adored them both, the culture, food, people, sight seeing...everything!

How would you describe home exchange to your family and friends?

A wonderful way to see the world without it costing a fortune. Also a much better form of accommodation than hotel rooms. You actually “live” in the towns, not like being a tourist.
