When Home Exchange Transforms a Simple Stay into a Lasting Friendship

A few days ago, we were participating in an exchange with hospitality in Puy-l'Évêque. Of course, we had noted the location, but we had also spotted the profile of Claire and Dominique, a French-Québecois couple who have been living in France for a few years.

Exchange with hospitality is also about this: the opportunity to meet people who share the same values of welcome, conviviality, and sharing. And since we have a special attachment to Quebec, we were very eager to get to know them.

A few days before our arrival, Claire invited us to dinner with them that very evening. An invitation we accepted with great pleasure!

We spent a wonderful evening around a delicious meal, talking about house exchanges, travels, meetings, Quebec, and our respective families.

The advantage of hospitality is that everyone keeps their independence while sharing real moments of life: a breakfast together, a drink at the end of the day, an impromptu conversation... everything happens naturally.

Thanks to their precious advice, we were also able to fully enjoy their pretty village the next day. And since things went so well, we shared their table again the second evening!

We also had the pleasure of discovering Claire's delicious homemade fruit tarts, made with passion. She sells them every Tuesday at the Puy Leveque market. If you are passing through the region on that day, it is definitely worth the detour—a beautiful opportunity to discover the local atmosphere and taste her treats!

Now, Claire and Dominique want to come and discover our region in turn, with hospitality, of course, on the lands of Samuel de Champlain!
