Those of us with pets know that they’re more than just an animal - they’re part of the family, too. That’s why it’s important to so many people to take their little furballs on vacation with them. Luckily, there’s a vast number of homes on HomeExchange that are pet-friendly and will go above and beyond to make sure that every member of your family enjoys their stay - including your pets!

Hear from some members of our community who stayed at some of our pet-friendly homes and felt more than welcome. While these reviews all mention bringing dogs, please reach out to your host to confirm whether other pets are allowed, and make sure that your pet can handle travel before taking them with you (cat lovers especially are probably familiar with the difficulties of trying to take their kitty anywhere outside the house). Get ready to pack up your suitcase, grab some treats and squeaky toys, and head out on your next adventure!

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elizabeth and her family's home and you will too! The home is bright, cozy and full of love. Communication with Elizabeth was easy and informative and check in was simple and straightforward. The home is very comfortable with multiple sitting areas both indoor and out, a comfy King bed and a well-stocked "chef's" kitchen. We became quite fond of their sweet kitty, Tyler, who made friends with our little dog. - Lisa”

Bruno and Laura’s Home in Normandy, France

PetFriendlyFrance

“The house was so charming, lots of outdoor space, situated in a beautiful country-side setting. It was a busy weekend in Normandy but we were able to get away from it all in this calm, peaceful, yet very accessible area. Lunch in the garden and soaking up the last rays of sunshine right up until the sunset. A long walk in the wooded area nearby with our dog and the nearby town Pont l'Eveque had lovely restaurants and shops. Could have definitely stayed longer!” - Ashley

PetFriendlyItaly

“We all, young and old, had a great time but the most significant thanks is that of Raja, our dog, who immediately settled in the beautiful garden of which he could appreciate every corner and every scent playing throughout the holiday.” - Michele

Travel with your pet

It’s hard leaving your pet behind when you travel, but being able to take them with you on a pet-friendly vacation lets them be a part of your trip. As always, just remember to communicate with your host to discuss house rules and safety measures so that you can have the purr-fect vacation (sorry - we couldn't resist)!
