Vad du kommer att gilla med hemmet

Our home is part of the Monumental buildings in the city centre of Tholen. Although it is almost 300 years old, the inside is quite modern and just a little bit different than a regular Dutch house. Our living room feels cozy and spaceous at the same time, as the big front window and roof windows offer plenty of daylight. We've child proofed most of the house and have tried to make the first floor an area where the kids can play and the adults can relax while having overview. In the back of the first floor you'll find our open kitchen which can be closed by a sliding door if needed. There's plenty of room for more than one person to be cooking or prepping at the same time, which makes for nice gatherings. With or without a glass of wine. There's also a learning tower, a kids table with chairs + a functional kids kitchen. From the kitchen you can exit to the patio garden, where you can enjoy complete privacy while in the open air. If in need of more outside space, just climb up the stairs to the roof terrace. (update: Due to construction the roof terrace will not be usable during your stay with us) On the second floor you will find the first bedroom with a double bed (140x200cm) and across it the bathroom with a toilet, shower, bath and double sink. The third floor is where you'll find the largest bedroom in an attic setting, although you don't have to worry about bumping your head. There's a big double bed (200x200cm) and two children beds (70x160cm) next to it. Windows on three sides of the room offer plenty of daylight and pretty views of the surrounding area. The adjacent building is our garage and offers a cozy attic bedroom (with a put up bed/chaise lounge) on its second floor. Please note that if you want to sleep in this room you will have to reach the bathroom by going through the patio garden, which might be a challenge when it rains ;)

You’ll be staying right on the main square of our town. If there are any festivities in town, they will be held here. Every Tuesday morning there’s a market held on the square where you can buy fresh fish, local cheese, fruit, vegetables, poultry and artisanal bread. When the sun is shining you’ll find the sun and coffee lovers on the terrace of the square’s café/restaurant. Within a few minutes walk you could stroll through the old center with its shops, stroll through the park or go up the dike to see the boats in the harbour. Use a bike to tour the island, the car to see more of the islands or follow a walking trail through peaceful nature.

Looking for more shops or excitement? We are 15 minutes away from Bergen op Zoom, 30 minutes away from Breda and Antwerp BE, 50 minutes from Rotterdam and 60 minutes from The Hague.
