My home, nestled in trees and alongside a creek, feels like living in a treehouse snow globe. The windows are enormous and look out onto the beautiful woods and creek. It's a sanctuary that's kind of as close as you can get to San Francisco or Berkeley while living in the country (only 45 minutes not during rush hour). It's is a ranch house built in 1964. It's rustic and elegant, with a stone fireplace hearth, and big open cathedral ceiling in the main living space which is an open kitchen, living, and dining room. A lot of custom woodwork within the home by local woodworkers, including a sleeping loft (sleeps 2). The kitchen is fully stacked, with a 6 burner wolf range, excellent working dishwasher, and all the accessories you need, I work as a private chef and do a lot of my work from home, so any food lover will be set! Bathroom is very cute. Full tub with hot hot water so you can take a bath while you listen to the creek. One bedroom has a futon and can be used as a bedroom or an office. The main bedroom has an extremely comfortable king size bed. Everyone who stays here says they slept the best sleeps of their life here. The property is 3 acres of hillside and creek. To get to the home you walk across the creek on a bridge, which is a very sweet part of the home. Since the bridge has a gate that closes on the other side, it's an excellent place for dogs to be off leash. Washer and dryer, fast wifi (wifi doesn't reliably reach the bedroom, but personal hotspot works for movies in bed). Record player and nice speakers that connect to bluetooth. Back patio.

I live in Forest Knolls-Lagunitas, which is in West Marin, in the San Geronimo Valley. It's basically the closest you can stay from San Francisco while being in the country. There are hiking trails you can walk to all around, horses that live across the street, redwoods just down the road, and the amazing pacific ocean and Pt. Reyes National seashore a beautiful half hour drive west. The town of Forest Knolls is small and cute. We have a coffee shop, a Farm Stand (best salmon of your life), a saloon, an Indian restaurant, and a little deli. 10 minutes east there is Fairfax, which has a number of grocery stores and restaurants and a movie theater. San Rafael is 20 minutes away and that is a city that has everything you would need.
