You will love your escape to our home. It is a modern, clean, secluded retreat located in a forested area of a quiet neighborhood between Humboldt State University in Arcata and scenic coastlines and Redwood National Park. First floor has an open floor plan with living, dining, kitchen, sunroom, entry, half bath, laundry, fireplace and large TV. French doors lead outside the to patio, fish pond, landscaped yard. The second floor has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, including the master bedroom which has a small beautiful bathroom. The floor over the garage is a family room/office with a TV and a vaulted ceiling. We now have 1 mature cat who will need very little while you are here. We have an enormous fire pit in a secluded forested area that is a great place to unwind, roast hot dogs and make s’mores. (If you are attentive to the fire and have our hose standing by.) Plenty of outdoor living space. We have a small cottage on the property that is operating as an airbnb. It is privately located off our driveway with its own on-site parking. Our home is situated a stones throw beyond the tiny house. The guests are self sufficient and the cleaner may access our garage for supplies if they have a checkout while you are here. We ask our home-exchangers to clean kitchen & bathrooms before departure, the rest being the responsibility of my housekeeper for $85 from you.

Our greatest local attraction is that we are the home of the California Coastal Redwoods, primal old-growth redwoods, the largest and best redwood parks and the most accessible and scenic trails and driving tours. Whether you choose hiking, beachcombing, kayaking, surfing, fishing, birdwatching, rafting -- or spectacular drives by car -- you will find a wild, unspoiled slice of California. In a nutshell: Redwood National Park 40 minute drive to see the largest trees on earth. Patrick's Point State Park 25 minute drive to natural wonderland. Fern Canyon and Trinidad and wonderful beaches. You will love your hikes in the giant redwoods. Evey guest we have comes for the hikes in Redwood National Park north of us. Our favorite hikes there are Praire Creek Trail and Brown Creek Trail loop. Drive the Newton B Drury Scenic Parkwy, it is a 10 mile section of the old highway through this great forest. Visit Fern Canyon: (65 min north - before Prairie Creek ~ at the end of a slow road out to coast). Patrick's Point State Park: (25 min north) Trails, Agate Beach and don't miss Wedding Rock. Trees of Mystery: Museum with an impressive collection of native American tribe's artifacts.
