The flat is located on the first floor of a very ancient, independent house owned by my family since 1940s. The house has been completely renovated in 2005. The flat itself has a brand-new bathroom (with shower) added in 2020 ensuite the twin bedroom, but there still is another, old-fashioned bathroom (with bathtub) on the ground floor, outside the flat. From the bedrooms, you have a beautiful view on the lake and mountains!

From Bellano, directly located on the lake, within a 5-10 minutes ride by car/bus or a beautiful 20-30 minutes uphill walk on lonely paths, you reach Ombriaco, a very small, very quiet village with just a bunch of houses, no shops, no bars, no cars and hardly people (there is a parking space right in front of the house where all cars must stop, "inside" Ombriaco there aren't roads, just small paths called "mulattiere"). But of course in Bellano there are supermarkets, groceries, doctors, bars, restaurants, shops, hairdressers, pharmacies, bakeries and...people! From there (or nearby Varenna) you can take the ferry/boat to more touristy spots like Bellagio, Colico, Como or drive along the lake to "real" towns like Lecco. You can reach Bellano also by train, and Milan is just 70 minutes away.
