What you will love about this home

Our house is in a terrific location close to downtown Princeton. Built in 1911 and expanded over the years, most recently in 2010 with a remodeled kitchen and master bathroom, our home combines traditional and modern features in its design and furnishings. The main floor has an airy modern kitchen/family room which opens onto a patio and garden; a living room with a fireplace; a formal dining room; a small TV room; and a half bathroom. Upstairs are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a study. The master bedroom has an 1880s queen size bed, an en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi, and a balcony overlooking the garden. A second bedroom has a full size antique bed and an exercise bike. The third bedroom can either have a twin bed or can be set up as a office/sitting room. The third floor has an office with an additional sleeping area and a bathroom. The house is filled with a varied collection of books, magazines, movies, and music. We have three bicycles.

What you will love about this neighborhood

Princeton is a lovely, lively town with a great university and beautiful campus. Our house is on a quiet, friendly residential street, a short walk to the university, theaters, parks, historic sites, and downtown Princeton with its many shops and restaurants. A natural food store, a coffee house, and several restaurants are within a 5-minute walk. Princeton University's football stadium and other sports venues are also nearby. We are 3/4 of a mile from Carnegie Lake, where Olympic rowers train, and the D & R Canal--a 50 mile linear canal park, great for biking, birding, canoeing, walking, and jogging. McCarter Theater, a 20-minute walk, has outstanding programs, with theater, dance, jazz, cabaret, classical and world music. Princeton University offers concerts, lectures, readings, movies, and sporting events, often free and open to the public. The University has an excellent art museum and great architecture, from historic Nassau Hall and the collegiate gothic campus, to modern buildings by Venturi, Gehry, Macado, Vinoly, Yamaski, Pelli, and Graves. A bus to New York City is one block from our house. Trains also provide easy access to New York City and Philadelphia. The Jersey Shore is an hour away by car and the Delaware River, with its historic villages such as New Hope and Lambertville, is a 40-minute drive.
