What you will love about this home
Our house is on our family farm, we are conveniently located between Bath and Bristol, 5 minutes from the M4, junction 18. We are in a very handy location for those of you visiting the Badminton horse trials. Recent renovations have been carried out with love and care by master builders, it has all of the modern comforts you would expect from a hotel suite but retains the rustic charm of a Cotswold Stone barn with vaulted ceilings and exposed oak beams.
The space
Sands Farm is a working farm, our friends at Marshfield Ice Cream use the land to produce award winning Organic Ice Cream, we have lots of animals including horses and a very friendly donkey named Rupert.
Our house is very spacious. The property looks out across the yard and open countryside. On summer days open the full length 6 bifold windows and experience wonderful indoor outdoor flow. The patio area has a table and chairs, a lovely place to enjoy a sundowner.
Guests can access the Cotswold Way which cuts across the bottom of our garden.
At the end of our drive you can visit Dyrham Park, a beautiful National Trust property, book early to feed the deer in their deer park, explore the gardens, take a tour around the house or indulge in a cream tea on the terrace.
You can explore our beautiful 70 acre woodland and borrow our crayfish pots and catch supper in the farm lake.
Book into The Tollgate for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Our Tearoom is a 10 minute walk across the farm, it has amazing views (70 miles on a good day) across to wales.
The historic Roman city of Bath is 8 miles away, use the park and ride on Landsdown (6 miles) next to the race course and beat the traffic and limited parking in Bath. If you are attending an evening function you can always catch a taxi for £35. The Visit Bath website has a full breakdown of current things to do and places to explore.
Bristol (17 miles) a city with a story to tell. Enveloped in the hills of South West England, it has its own unmistakable identity, grounded in roots from centuries past and carved out since by passionate locals and spirited fans. The Visit Bristol website has an up to date list of events and things to do.
We love Tetbury and Nailsworth, both are around a 25 minute drive away, we recommend an early lunch in Williams Food Hall and Oyster bar in Nailsworth followed by a walk around the beautiful Cotswold village of Tetbury.
Stonehenge is an hours drive away.
