Our home is one of the best houses in Granada. it is an 1885 Spanish colonial house in the middle of the historic district. 1 1/2 blocks to the central Park. Completely restored in August 2016. Air-conditioning is included. it is a classical hacienda style house with 483 m² (5200 ft.²) inside the walls of the house. The garden and pool are inside the walls. The pool is always warm and refreshing. Modern kitchen. Master suite has king-size bed, and is connected to the master bath and a large studio with couches and television. Both are air-conditioned as are the other bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed and bathroom. The other bedroom has a trundle bed with two singles and a bathroom. Granada is great in any season and we live outdoors on the patios much of the time. We go inside to watch TV and sleep. We share our time between our house at the beach in Southern California and this house in Granada. This is our home, not a rental. We are looking to exchange with a similar high-quality property anywhere in the world. Includes maid service five days per week. Our excellent and experienced guide is available for $25 a day. A car is available for $40 per day plus gas. There is lots to do in Granada and the towns nearby. We have two friendly cats. The maid takes care of them during the week, but you will have to feed them on the weekend. Please leave a tip ($10-20) for the maid for the extra cleaning of your visit.
Granada Nicaragua, founded in 1524, is the leading tourist attraction in Nicaragua. It has a historical center of colonial homes and our house is in the middle of the historical center. There are plenty of websites such as tripadvisor to give you reviews of Granada. There are churches and museums in town, we recommend a horse carriage tour to get oriented. Granada is in the shadow of an inactive volcano. You can walk around it or go zip lining. There are excellent short boat tours of the 365 small islands in Granada. Nearby there are towns that make pottery, furniture and sell flowers just as they have done for hundreds of years. The Masaya Volcano, about 20 minutes away, is active but not erupting. Seeing it at night and the 10 foot high waves of lava crashing is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This is shown in my profile picture. There is a gorgeous volcanic lake for swimming and kayaking about 15 minutes away. The warm Pacific is 90 minutes away. Nature walks and birdwatching are abundant. Our experienced English-speaking guide is available for $20 per day; a rental car is available for $40 per day plus gas. You can have the trips exploring the surrounding areas with the car. The night volcano at Masaya shown in my profile picture is outstanding. Granada is a tourist location, but 98% of the people on the street are locals. This is the charm. You can visit the local market where they shop which is three blocks away. A nice thing is that there are plenty of restaurants and hotels in Granada, but no chain restaurants or chain hotels yet. The people are friendly and you can walk everywhere in town. Our guide can pick you up at the airport and take you there as well.
