What you will love about this home

Thank you for taking the time to look at our listing to see what we have to offer. Our southeast facing, fully renovated one level home is flooded with glorious sunshine streaming in through large windows in the living and dining rooms. While relaxing in our new reclining loveseat and swivel chairs you have a stunning, unobstructed ocean view while you watch pleasurecraft, windsurfers, kayakers, SUP’s and even cruise ships float by. After a restful sleep in the master bedroom’s queen size bed you can wake up to this same amazing ocean view and spectacular sun rises. Complete with a walk-in closet and an en-suite that includes a large walk-in shower (and GREAT water pressure) this large bedroom is a perfect place to retire. The small guest room also has a very comfortable queen size bed with under-the-bed storage. A fully-loaded, completely renovated, open concept kitchen looks out the living & dining room windows creating a bright & airy space. There is a large walk-in pantry housing all manner of small kitchen appliances and a full stand up freezer. The laundry room is equipped with a washer & dryer, linen, broom & coat closets. For our environmentally conscious guests there is a (well-used) clothesline to hang laundry, wet towels and bathing suits. Our renovations two years ago included the installation of a heat pump for both the quiet, unintrusive and effective heating as well as cooling options. So no matter the season guests are able to conveniently control their comfort level with the push of a button. With a few outdoor seating areas you can sit back anywhere from full sun to full shade. Under our grape arbour we have created a very private “grotto” that seats four with a coffee table, candles and at the right time of year you can see the thousands of grapes hanging off the vines. On the ocean side of the house (at the front) there is a large patio with a sun umbrella, chairs and an outdoor propane firetable. If you would prefer to sit in front of the living room you are welcome to move the chairs there to enjoy the full effect of the warm summer breezes as you watch the constant activity on the water.. Right across a small road is a cleared path providing access to the beach and an opportunity to cool off in the clean ocean water, wander for hours along the shore, watch bald eagles soar above & seals lazing nearby. The separated, safe walking path along the road takes you 1.5km to the Point Holmes boat launch where you can see fishermen bringing in their catch. We absolutely love our home and are thankful every single day that we have managed to land in, what we consider, the best place on earth! From ocean breezes, swimming right out our front door, having family nearby, enjoying swaying green trees, seeing the millions of “diamonds” sparkling on the ocean waves………….we can’t imagine a better spot to live and would be very happy if we could share it with you.

Surrounded by nature & away from big city lights the Comox Valley is nestled between the tranquil waters of the Salish Sea, the mighty coastal mountains and miles of flat, fertile farmland - the perfect place to vacation. The funky, historic village of Cumberland (25 minutes away) offers a unique experience with world class mountain biking, access to pristine Comox Lake with its clear, clean, invigorating waters, a brew pub, quirky restaurants/cafes/bars, eclectic shops & a wonderfully distinct vibe. Courtenay, the vibrant city of 28,000, is 15 minutes away and serves up so many amenities from shopping 5th Avenue, music venues, beautiful Lewis Park located right on the Puntledge River, hiking & biking trails, fine dining & much more. Comox is the third main community that comprises the Comox Valley. The town of 15,000 sits on a large peninsula & is surrounded on 2 sides by ocean, one by mountains & farmland to the west. The full service marina & stunning Comox Marina Park has a beautiful boardwalk that goes out on the spectacular breakwater for extraordinary ocean & mountain views. We are a community that embraces and celebrates our waterfront location. Downtown (5 minutes away) is small but packs a powerful punch with 2 brew pubs, several 5* restaurants offering coastal cuisine & some exclusive, individual shops & services. For the outdoor enthusiast you can mountain bike, trail & road ride, hike from easy to very strenuous trails, enjoy every type of water sport from kayaking to sailing & just plain going for a dip at one of the many beaches, lakes or rivers. There is always the opportunity to golf at one of our 7 golf courses, play pickleball and/or disc golf or simply wander along the shore soaking it all in. World renowned Mt. Washington is 40 minutes away for hiking in the summer and downhill & cross country skiing, snowboarding, tubing & snowshoeing in the colder temperatures. It is an all-season wonderland with first class facilities all within our valley footprint. The valley is a photographer's dream with fantastic lighting, shadows through the trees, shimmering waters, blue skies and constant, varied & plentiful wildlife (including deer that roam through our yard daily!). Or maybe a day at one of our two world famous spas is more to your liking? Or an evening listening to local musicians at one of the many local wineries? Or doing a tasting at a distillery or wandering through our Saturday morning farmer’s markets with a plethora of locally grown produce, tasting stalls of locally crafted wines? Take your pick. We can keep you as busy as you would like with all that the Comox Valley has to offer. We can also promise you an amazing holiday in this spot we love and call home.

Located on the central east coast of Vancouver Island our home is ideally situated for exploring not only our local area but the entire island from tip to tip. Victoria, our charming and yet bustling capital city, is a 3 hour drive south. Here you can appreciate the vision and creation of the internationally renowned, 55 acre Butchart Gardens as well as wander the sea wall along the Inner Harbour, feed the ducks at 182 acre Beacon Hill Park, marvel at the opulence of Craigdarroch Castle, stand in awe at the Bateman Gallery, the list goes on and on. The tourist towns of Tofino & Ucluelet on the West Coast are about 4 hours away. With miles and miles of soft sand beaches & rugged rocky coastline this has become a must see for visitors as you travel through Port Alberni, the fishing capital of the world! Telegraph Cove is a whale watching mecca with a boardwalk through what was once a fishing & cannery village, now showcasing many homes that have been restored back to their original design. The untouched wilderness at the north end of the island rewards travelers with a view of old growth forests, pristine lakes, free roaming bears, deer and other wildlife………..an area of green towering trees and fresh, clean air. You can access “the island” from Vancouver either by a 95 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay or a 120 minute ferry ride from Tsawwassen to Duke Point, both in the Nanaimo area. A 90 minute drive north from Nanaimo will bring you right to our ocean front home. About 5 minutes away from our home is the Comox Airport which has daily flights from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and more. Another enjoyable pastime is to watch the planes coming in over the ocean to land at this airport almost every night. There is also a float plane airport that offers flights from several points into the seaplane base in Courtenay. So getting to our slice of heaven is easy……………you could be relaxing with a glass of wine or a good book before you know it!
