What you will love about this home

My home is a cosy Victorian terrace on a small, quiet street. The house has a dining room and living room with wooden floors leading into the kitchen and out to a small private garden. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with a separate shower as well as a bath. It's very much my lived in home, so there are plenty of books, music and DVDs if you want to relax. I have a black labrador dog so the house is comfy and home-y and not hotel-like! I am ideally looking for a reciprocal exchange in the UK or Ireland where I can bring the dog.

What you will love about this neighborhood

Market Harborough is a bustling market town in south Leicestershire. You have everything you need within a 15 minute walk, including lots of cafes, restaurants and shops and a train station, with trains to London St Pancras in 1 hour, Leicester in 12 minutes and on to Nottingham and Sheffield. You can also walk out into the countryside, with the Brampton Valley Way (a disused railway line that is now a nature track) starting just 5 minutes from the house, which gives you miles of traffic-free walking or cycling. There is a branch of the Grand Union Canal with a marina on the outskirts of the town and a towpath for miles of walks, or you can hire a day boat to explore the waterway towards Foxton Locks.

There is plenty of history nearby - including English Civil War battlefields around Naseby and the Richard III Visitor Centre in Leicester. Within five miles around the town you have Kelmarsh Hall and Garden, which is open to the public in spring and summer, and Foxton Locks. Within 10 miles, you have the village of Brixworth with its Saxon church and Rockingham Castle. There are also plenty of other pretty villages close by, such as Medbourne and Hallaton.
