Our home is a bright, charming, comfortable old Dutch colonial built in the 1920s. We have a large yard, a large back deck, and a screened in porch. There is an artist studio in the back which is great for studying or as a hang out spot for the kids. The kitchen, basement, and main bathroom were all renovated since we moved in 4 years ago. We love the open kitchen and the many windows throughout the house. I love the front raised garden where we grow a bunch of vegetables in the summer.
We live in the West Montrose neighborhood of South Orange, 5 minute walk to the train to NYC and a half block from Meadowland Park with winter sledding and summer movies, music and sports. The village is a 15 minute walk through the park, and there you will find restaurants, groceries, stories, library, post office. Basically everything you need is within a 15 minute walk.
The neighborhood is friendly and low key, and we love our neighbors. There is a strong sense of community here, and it has a diverse and progressive vibe.
This is a great place to stay if you want to visit NYC but also want the comfort of space and access to nature.
Bikes could be part of the share including a nice ebike.
