Wide and bright is our open living, kitchen and dining area. Light comes through many windows and a large panorama window facing south with a far-reaching view of the greenery. The furnishings are predominantly light or made of wood and have a reduced, tidy and cosy feel. The focal point is our large kitchen counter when we cook together or our large table for meals. With four large bedrooms (one with a piano) and two full bathrooms, the house offers plenty of space for retreat. In summer, we love our large garden with its different areas: a terrace and lots of lawn to the south, protected by a long beech hedge, a terrace to the east, with a view of a dense wall hedge and a small wood, and another small terrace to the north with evening sun and a view of a kitchen garden and snack garden (berries, lettuce, herbs...). In winter, we appreciate the underfloor heating, the well-insulated house all around, the vastness and the flat sunlight that fills the rooms to the last corner on some winter days. The accommodation is ideally suited for families, but also for all other people who like to enjoy a lot of space and tranquillity and yet are looking for proximity and good connections to the pretty university town of Münster. The Münster district of Roxel (www.roxel.de) in the west of the city is very popular for living and offers everything you need for daily life: Grocery stores within walking distance, many playgrounds, surgeries, sauna, hairdressers, restaurants, sports facilities and an indoor swimming pool. Every Friday there is a nice weekly market under the trees in the centre of the village. You can cycle to Münster city centre or take various buses every 20 minutes or the train directly to Münster main station (journey time 11 minutes). Münster's Allwetterzoo or the Natural History Museum are in the west of the city and thus within cycling distance; it is even quicker by car. The location of the house in Münster's west is also an ideal starting point to get to know the typical Münsterland. For example, with short bike tours to Hülshoff Castle and its beautiful park (www.burg-huelshoff.de), the beautiful Baumberge town of Havixbeck (the Baumberge are also great for hiking) or the direct connection to the Premium Cycle Route 100 Castles Route. A part of the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James) also leads past the house directly to Stift Tilbeck with a great café, animal enclosures and playground. The Teutoburg Forest with the scenic Teutoschleifen (www.teutoschleifen.de) is about 30 minutes away by car to the north. An hour's drive to the south and further on is the northern Ruhr area with Haltern am See or the impressive Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in Essen (www.zollverein.de).
