What you will love about this home
Our patio home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood with a community pool, exercise room, and playground just a short walk from the house. Our home is off the beaten path but conveniently located for visiting many tourist attractions.
Everything is on one level. There is a lovely dining room that is open to the living room. Enjoy the game table by the windows or watch the smart TV. The fully equipped kitchen has a counter with stools and a breakfast table. One comfy bedroom has a queen bed and the second has two twin beds. Both bedrooms have closets and dressers for your use. The full bathroom has a tub with a shower, and you will have use of our clothes washer and dryer.
One of our favorite spaces is the screen room off the kitchen. Our private back yard is bordered by a wooded area and a small pond where many varieties of birds can be seen including egret and great blue heron. Enjoy grilling on the charcoal grill out on the back patio and resting in hammocks in the back yard.
In our driveway, you can park up to four cars.
What you will love about this neighborhood
There are things to do and see in the neighborhood and throughout the area. Be sure to discover all the sites, beaches, and history that Brunswick and the Golden Isles have to offer...
Neighborhood: When you want to relax near the house, you may use the neighborhood pool, exercise room, and playground, which are about a hundred yards from the house. We also recommend exploring the biking/jogging/walking path that you will find just across from the entrance to the neighborhood. If you follow the path for about a mile north you will come to the North Glynn Recreation Complex, which has a one-mile loop path around a small lake, fishing, tennis courts, basketball courts, skateboard park, playgrounds, soccer and baseball fields, picnic pavilion, rest rooms and parking.
Brunswick: Go downtown to Brunswick's quaint antique and art shops, unique restaurants, bars, brewery and rum distillery along Newcastle Street. If you are fortunate enough to be here on a First Friday of the month, spending the evening in downtown Brunswick is the best! Drive around Brunswick's Old Town historic district to see Victorian homes and don't miss Lover's Oak (corner of Albany and Prince Streets).
St. Simons Island: Take a quick 30-min drive to relax on St. Simons Island. Check out St Simons Pier Village where you can walk the pier and play in Neptune Park or enjoy shopping and dining. Go to East Beach or Massengale Park to enjoy a great day at the beach! Visit Fort Frederica National Monument and the Bloody Marsh historic sites. St. Simons offers many activities: boat, kayak, and fishing trips, golf, trolley tours, shopping and dining.
Jekyll Island: Take a quick 30-minute drive to explore Jekyll Island, which is a state park. On Jekyll Island, you can golf or play tennis, rent a bike and ride the whole island on bike paths, walk under the majestic live oaks and Spanish moss as you explore the historic Jekyll Island Club resort, visit the Turtle Center, check out the Jekyll fishing pier, play at Jekyll's water park, enjoy the expansive beaches, and walk the Wanderer Memory Trail to learn about America's last known slave ship. There are so many wonderful things on Jekyll Island, you'll want to visit jekyllisland.com
Darien: Just 20 minutes north of our neighborhood there is a quaint fishing village called Darien, GA, which sits at the mouth of the Altamaha River. It has a few good riverfront restaurants, and if history is your thing, it is home to the Fort King George State historic site!
There is a small airport in Brunswick.
The closest major airports are in Jacksonville, FL (one hour south) and Savannah, GA (one hour north).
