We are open to reciprocal exchanges only at this time.
Our Princeton area home is in a beautiful, quite neighborhood with sidewalks and wooded natural preserved areas.
Our street ends in a cul de sac with a wooded path to a softball field. The area offers excellent cycling on mostly flat land to beautiful, interesting historic towns and wineries. Cycle for miles along the Delaware and Raritan canal towpath or to Cranbury and enjoy breakfast outside, or walk the paths at the Plainsboro Preserve and enjoy the lake and the birds.
The lovely town of Princeton and the University are 5 miles away and offer excellent shopping, restaurants and cultural opportunities.
We are 3 miles from the express train serving NYC, Philadelphia and the entire east coast. We are centrally located in a gorgeous part of New Jersey with nearby orchards (Terhune orchards) Hopewell swimming quarry, and near Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton.
Our private and quiet home is well-maintained with gardens and large, mature trees, secluded brick dining patio with outdoor table seating 6-8, with gas grill and portable fire pit. Spacious, fenced backyard for sports/play or relaxation in the garden.
Very comfortable and well equipped, our home has 5 bedrooms, 4 are for sleeping and one is an office. All are on the second floor. Two bedrooms have queen beds, two bedrooms have single beds. There are two full baths. The master bathroom has a shower, the second bathroom has a full tub.
The first floor has a family room with wood burning fireplace enclosed with glass doors opening to a large full kitchen with center island, table for six looking out to the wooded backyard though a large bay window.
We love to cook and have everything you might need. There are also excellent restaurants in the area that offer outdoor dining and take out.
Our living room and dining room have beautiful, comfortable furnishings. Our home has cable internet, Netflix, Amazon video, WHYY passport, WiFi and Sonos. The first floor has a half bath and small laundry area with full sized washer and dryer leading out to the sunroom, patio and garage.
Our home has a comfortable, bright sunroom with two cozy loveseats and small fridge. Put your feet up, look outside and relax. It is fully enclosed and has large screened windows and a sliding double door opening to the brick patio and private, fenced yard. It is not heated, but has a ceiling fan and is perfect to use May through October. It is ideal for sitting, listening to the birds, having coffee or a relaxing glass of wine and not being bothered by bugs.
Our carpeted, finished basement has a TV, sectional sofa, Concept 2 rower and table.
Our house is located in a quiet neighborhood. It borders on preserved, wooded areas. It has a serene mix of friendly neighbors, historic towns and wooded preserves. The house is tastefully decorated with clean, comfortable, well kept high quality furnishings and wool rugs on hard wood floors.
Though our two children are now grown and on their own, we have many games, books and movies for children in the basement.
Everything you need for enjoying the outdoors is here too - chairs, towels, a kayak and bikes. Our area is very well suited (flat) for biking and we have 2 adult bikes and a mountain bike.
You are welcome to smoke outside on the deck or patio, but not anywhere indoors.
What you will love in the neighborhood:
The Princeton area is a 1.5 hour drive south from New York City in central New Jersey. We are a 1 hour drive from the Jersey shore.
For entertainment nearby: Great Adventure waterpark in Jackson, the unique stores and restaurants in Lambertville, Asbury Park with clubs and restaurants, cycling, boating, kayaking, and hiking. Our favorite - eating! Lots of wonderful dining options.
If you want to have a day trip to New York City, visiting Manhattan or Philadelphia from our home is easy using the Northeast corridor NJ Transit rail line. Nearby Pennsylvania offers cute towns to explore like New Hope and Yardley.
We will do our very best to help you prepare for your vacation, leaving maps and guides to ensure you can easily find your way around. We want you to have a wonderful time here! We can discuss a car exchange. Our car is a Honda Odyssey and the kayak or bicycles fit right in, or on the Thule roof rack. We could also discuss use of our Honda hybrid sedan.
Listen to the birdsong in the quiet, peaceful gardens or the fire crackling in the wood stove indoors.
Lots of outdoor seating/relaxing options throughout the property
