What you will love about this home
Contemporary NW architecture meets Scandinavian design on a ridge-top next to Cape Disappointment, WA. Views of the mouth of the Columbia and the Pacific (or of incoming storms). Fully equipped kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, beds for 9, and a gorgeous great room that could become your favorite room on the planet.
Cape Disappointment State Park is 1200 acres of forests and headlands, historic sites, and two lighthouses, at the mouth of the Columbia River. The house has easy access to the park and to Washington's longest beach (quick drive or 30-minute walk or 10-minute bicycle ride). On a bicycle you can ride the nearby Discovery Trail for miles over the dunes along the beach.
Ilwaco is a 4 hour drive from Seattle, or a 2.5 hour drive from Portland, OR. You would need a car for this visit.
Nearby award-winning dining. Nearby hiking, biking, deep sea fishing, birding, geocaching, sand castle building, kite festivals, and clamming. Cape D is part of the larger Lewis & Clark National Historical Park complex, with the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, forest trails, beautiful headlands, and the lighthouses.
Our ridge is totally exposed to the weather and our storms can be fierce! If you’re housebound, we have lots of games and books, and solid internet.
