Nestled against world famous Edna Valley vineyards, this free standing guest house with private entry has gorgeous mountain, vineyard and garden views. Less than 5 minutes from winery tasting rooms and the airport, yet you feel miles away from everything. CalPoly University and charming, walkable downtown San Luis Obispo are less than 15 minutes away. (And we list a TV, yet one can't make clear on the click boxes that it has ROKU so you can sign in to your own accounts). Furnished with the antique bedroom set that's been in my husband's family for three generations, this house is great for a quiet couple or single person. The studio offers a full kitchen, 3/4 bath, full bed, and a very comfy couch. If you're interested, and they're laying, guests are welcome to get their morning eggs from my hens. We request two night minimum, three at special event times.
Tesla charging available by special arrangement.
With one acre lots, the homes in this neighborhood are mostly of the classic California ranch style. There is very little street light at night and daytimes you hear the cows of the local rancher and chickens of the gentlewoman farmer (me). Walking trails link the streets and there are no sidewalks. Our property abuts Edna Valley's Paradox Vineyard, there is a winery tasting room right across the street from our neighborhood, and we're about ten minutes from beaches and hiking trails. It's an amazing place.
Other famous places within 15 to 30 minutes: Pismo Beach with great beaches and car shows, Avila Beach for sun and golf, Paso Robles and Templeton wineries (around 400), Morro Bay's famous rock, whale watching, and ocean sports, Cayucos for laid-back California beach vibe. Hikes are in town, around town, and close to town. We have books to help you! Mountain biking trails, too.
35 minutes to an hour: Hearst Castle, more wineries, longer hikes, Cambria with its Scarecrow Festival
Our last child recently left for college so we have more time to travel, which leads us to offer the guest house to visitors. We've lived here a long time, and until now the guest house was reserved for our friends and family.
