What you will love about this home
Évora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The house was very old when I got it. Some people believe it used to be an old wine cellar. It took 7 years for it to become what it is today. It was a long renovating process but the final result was exactly what I had dreamed.
The house itself (100 m2) has two floors:
. Living Room with bed-sofa and wood-burner
. Kitchen (with a Nespresso)
. Bedroom with sitting room attached
The bedroom's bed has the dimensions of 160x200cm ( 63"x80") which is the equivalent to a King Bed (UK size)/Queen Bed (US size). Linens and towels provided.
If you are arriving by car don't worry. The nearest parking is located 100m from the house just in front of the Theater Garcia de Resende. It's an underground garage, I always park there. There is also two free parking areas 300m away from the house.
Parties and pets are not allowed. Smoking is only allowed in the terrace.
What you will love about this neighborhood
The house is located in the historic center just beside the Aqueduct, in a commercial area but on a very quiet street with no traffic.
The street itself is surrounded by very small and very old style grocery, pastry and bakery shops - I love that part! :-) In the morning one only has to walk 50m to get really nice fresh bread! :-) Also the restaurants located around are the best in town.
If you are a fan of culture, history, good wine and good food you are coming to the right place. :-)
Besides this, around Évora you have the beautiful cork oak forests (so called Montados). Just to remember that Portugal, in particular the region of Évora, is the first cork producer in the world with 50% of the cork produced worldwide coming from here.
Usually the house is only available between November and February but sometimes exceptions can be made.
It's located in a quiet beautiful street in the heart of the historic center.
It's full of charm and very cozy, one just feels like never leaving from there.
There are so many old style grocery, bakery, pastry shops and excellent restaurants around the house.
