What you will love about this home

Our homes is a modern, bright, well- maintained semi-detached house in the lovely suburb of Rathgar. A very short drive will take you to shops and supermarkets but much closer is the lovely park along the banks of the River Dodder where we often go walking or jogging. Our three children have now left and our home is filled with books, a piano and has lots of comfortable seating areas. There are large windows throughout with garden views to the front and rear. A unique feature of the house is a terrace with amazing views of the valley and park below. It is a wonderful place to have breakfast at the weekend and also to have dinner with a glass of wine where we watch the sunset. It’s hard to believe you are so close to the city. The house has two living rooms downstairs, a study and a large kitchen/dining room with stove. There is a utility room with washing machine and dryer and also a toilet with wash hand basin. Each living room has lovely garden views and there is a fireplace in one and a wood burning stove in the larger garden room. We are keen cooks and we enjoy preparing meals in the sunny kitchen which has all Neff appliance and direct access to the garden. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a family bathroom with bath/shower. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with adjoining en-suite with shower. The second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has one single bed. As our children have grown up our rear garden is plant-filled with sunny seating areas and a barbeque. To the front there is a large shared garden space where children can play. There is side access to the garden where we store bikes and bicycles can be arranged. We have a cat called Oscar who might need some feeding and a little bit of love. Dublin city is a vibrant historical city with lots to see and do. You can take the bus and be in the city centre in 15 minutes. En-route you will pass through the villages of Rathgar and Rathmines which have colourful, individual shops, bookshops, cinemas, bars, coffee shops and restaurants. Or you can take the efficient LUAS tram – the station is a 12 minute walk away along tree-lined Orwell Rd. In the city centre is Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Guinness Hopstore, Jameson’s Distillery, museums and theatres with open air tourist buses and walking trails. Just some of the great things Dublin has to offer. Even closer is Dundrum Town Centre which is a large retail fashion centre with cinema and a range of restaurants Our neighbourhood is close to the motorway which will take you to the airport and to other main cities in Ireland –Cork (2 hours), Galway (2 hours), Belfast ( less than 2 hours). From our house you can be in the Dublin mountains in 20 minutes and drive beyond in the lovely garden county of County Wicklow. It is also possible to drive to the coast and to the towns of Dun Laoghaire and Malahide. Lovely day trips can be had should you wish to go hill-walking or take a coastal walk from Bray to Greystones and return home in the evening to dinner in the garden to watch the sun go down. We love living here and we will know you will too.

Rathgar is a leafy suburb 5km from the city centre. We have two riverside parks within walking distance of the house. There is a direct bus to the city centre nearby.
