What you will love about this home
note: Sadly, we have CAT allergies, so cannot consider pet friendly homes which have hosted them or homes with cats in residence.
We like to lend our main home May-October, while we are at a different property in NJ. Ourselves, we are available to travel September through June (not July or August). We tend to trade non-simultaneously, reciprocally. I consider point swaps for stays longer than one week. Our property is 8 acres of gardens and trees with a pool, spa, extensive blue stone patio, and outdoor fireplace. Our neighborhood is quiet and family oriented and filled with wildlife like white tailed deer, rabbits, and birds.
Our home is in the bucolic rolling countryside of Hunterdon County, NJ. Horse farms and farm stands surround us, yet we are 1 hour from NYC in an area nearby quaint Delaware river valley towns (you can look up Frenchtown, New Hope, Lambertville, Milford) They are connected with a bike trail all along the river so that you can ride from town to town. Hunterdon, NJ, and neighboring Bucks county, Pa, have vineyards with tours and tastings. Princeton University is about 30 minutes.
You can take a direct bus into Manhattan, parking 5 minutes from the house. Or, you can drive part the way then take the ferry or trains in. It’s very convenient, as long as you are not going during rush hour! Alternately, you can drive in and I can give you an excellent parking location right inside of the tunnel. I have made it from our home to the parking garage in Manhattan in exactly one hour but it’s usually a few minutes more. However, it’s quite straight forward, enter 78 east and take that same road right through the Holland tunnel... and you are there!
Finally, if you are here with the kids there are several seasonal amusement parks that make a great day trip. Great Adventure and Dorney Park are popular and within an hours drive. Going to a popular NJ boardwalk with amusements is an option at 90 minutes. Hershey park or Pennsylvania Dutch Country is a bit further at 2.5 hours, but worth the trip.
Central to NYC, Hoboken, Brooklyn and Philly. Atlantic City & casinos, 2hrs. Jersey shore, 1-1.5hr. Poconos for outdoor adventures or casinos, 1hr. Shopping in our famous NJ malls, quaint town boutiques, or in the big cities. Cycling on country roads, trails, bike paths, vineyards, tubing on the Delaware river. Quaint, historic towns all around.
