What you will love about this home
Our year-round lakefront home is on a no-wake zone on Pawtuckaway Lake in southern NH.It's a small-ish lake (1000 acres), very popular for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboards and pontoon boats in Summer and Fall, and skating and cross-country skiing in winter. Downhill skiing is from 30 minutes to 2 hours away, including Waterville Valley and Loon Mountain. The lake has two pairs of nesting loons, as well as osprey, herons, egrets and bald eagles - a very tranquil place and yet just an hour to Boston and half an hour to the lively coastal towns of Portsmouth and Hampton, and to beautiful Nubble Lighthouse in York, ME. The cabin itself was built using all local pine, with large hand-hewn open beam ceilings, and a large year-round porch with gorgeous views of the lake. A gas fireplace adds warmth and ambience to the natural coziness of the cabin. A TV room downstairs allows for large screen viewing of sports and movies, including several streaming channels.
What you will love about this neighborhood
Lakefront, with friendly neighbors and dirt roads for strolling. Easy access to Boston (1 1/4 hour) and the coastal towns of Portsmouth, Rye and Hampton, NH (30 min), and York, Maine (30 min). Cross-country skiing at the lake on state park trails, and a variety of downhill resorts from 30 minutes to 2 hours (Waterville Valley, Bretton Woods, Loon, Cannon). Great airport 30 minutes away (Boston/Manchester), or Logan (1 hour) in Boston. Come experience the serenity of lake life with all the comforts of home.
We love our cabin and gorgeous spot on a pristine New Hampshire lake, yet also love having cute towns nearby as well as the coasts of NH and Maine. Boston is a little over an hour by car, or train from Exeter.
Kayaking, swimming, fishing, listening to the loons - nothing like it!
