What you will love about this home

Our home is located on a hill above a beautiful nature preserve (San Elijo Lagoon), it's very secluded and is at the end of a dirt driveway. Since the weather in San Diego is lovely year-round, we frequently take walks down into the reserve to enjoy the beautiful views. Because we are perched on a hill above the reserve, the home is very private and we have no direct neighbors. My parents originally built the home in 1980 in the image of a Lindal log cabin. As you can see from the photos, the focal point of the house consists of the 8 massive picture windows that allow you to enjoy views up the coast. Any surfer can appreciate this, and we have a telescope that allows visitors to check the surf prior to heading to the shore, just 5 minutes from our home. Although the house is 3 levels, 90% of the rooms are located on the second level above the subterranean basement and garage. Upon entering, you walk into the great room, with a full kitchen and dining area off the the left. The master suite is located on one side of the house and two additional bedrooms are located with the laundry facilities on the opposite - almost like 2 wings. The third level is a loft area used as a family television room and includes a pull out sofa bed. The basement is a game room that offers 2 additional put up beds and a sliding glass door to the jacuzzi hot tob out on the covered patio. What you will love about this neighborhood

Solana Beach is located in North County, about 45 minutes from Downtown San Diego. Immediate enjoyment from local beaches that are a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk, and hikes through the San Elijo Lagoon nature preserve. Solana Beach is also home to the Cedros Design District - great for art, shopping local wares, etc.

Our primary purpose for participating in Home Exchange is to seek out *non-reciprocal exchanges* for our family to enjoy. Because this is our secondary home, the ideal matches for us are other secondary homes, and we are comfortable using guest points in that mutual format. We do sometimes consider shortterm requests for Guest Points over the off season (Oct-Nov, Jan-March) Peak Season for San Diego is April-September and thats when our home earns her keep as a short-term rental. It's more difficult for us ot exchange during that period and over holidays because we give up revenue.
