What you will love about this home

We have a well-furnished and equipped modern house on the Southern outskirts of Northampton. Northampton is located in the centre of the UK, 60 miles North of London and a similar distance South of Birmingham. 100 years ago 70% of the world’s shoes were made here, but no longer. It is a large and quiet town surrounded by very pleasant countryside and attractive villages full of history (including the civil war). We very much enjoy the many country walks that this offers. Milton Keynes, the most successful of the English new towns, is 20 minutes away and has very extensive sports and other facilities. It boasts a very large modern shopping centre. Cambridge lies 50 miles to the East, Stratford-on-Avon 50 miles NW and Oxford 50 miles to the West. The Cotswolds are 40 minutes away. And the local golf course, 18 holes, is about 400m down the road! The house is 5 minutes by car from the M1 motorway that runs north from London to Leeds and gives easy access the rest of the country to north and south. Luton Airport is 30minutes away, Birmingham Airport 1 hour, Heathrow 1.5 hours. Located in a small cul-de-sac of similar properties, all well kept by friendly helpful neighbours it is on a large corner plot, with an open plan garden to the front and a completely private and well-stocked walled garden to the rear. The rear garden faces south and is terraced with a lawn, flower beds, two decking areas and an undercover barbeque. Inside, the house has three large reception rooms, sitting room, dining room and what we call the ‘den’ where we have large flat screen TV, audio players and lots of books! The kitchen has a range cooker, drawer fridge, dishwasher and breakfast bar. There is a large utility room with washer/dryer, central heating boiler, additional larder fridge, freezer, and clothes drying facilities. There is a toilet downstairs. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, two double and one single, and a study with desktop computer, printer, Wi-Fi, etc. There is a bathroom with power shower over the bath and a separate shower room/en suite next to the main bedroom. The integrated double garage is full of our ‘stuff’ so cars are kept in the drive. Two adult bicycles and safety helmets are available should you wish to explore the cycle paths around the area. We have a cycle rack to carry bicycles on the rear of a car. You will need a car if wishing to travel to other areas, though there is a local bus service into Northampton. Car is available with swap. Northampton has a train service linking with the rest of the UK through London and Birmingham (Central London 1hr 10 minutes, Birmingham 40 minutes).

What you will love about this neighborhood

East Hunsbury is an area to the south of the town centre. Most of the houses were built 25-30 years ago with good green spaces to walk in the locality. Everything is easily accessible from the house. A small local shopping centre is five minutes walk, the golf club and the sports club are a similar distance. We are five minutes drive from the town centre with great eating and cultural facilities. We are also five minutes from the M1 motorway (North/South) and the A45 (East/West) providing easy access to the rest of the country.

So convenient for getting to everywhere else in the UK except Scotland! Suburban area but close to interesting and beautiful undulating countryside with many historic houses. House is modern and easy to live in, garden and neighbourhood delightful
