What you will love about this home

Our house is located in a quaint and small Portuguese island, in the South of the country, in the Algarve region. It is in the Formosa Natural Park, where housing is very restricted. As a matter of fact, there is no hotel in there and therefore you may only find private lodging. That is why motor vehicles are prohibited and most of the streets are unpaved. You cannot miss out on the chance of enjoying its stunning unspoiled beaches. The beach next to our house is eight kilometres long. Culatra is inhabited by fishermen, the food is homemade and you can buy delicious fish directly from the fishermen. It is the perfect place to switch off the hustle and bustle of big cities and escape the daily stress. You can be certain you will enjoy an unique experience. The island offers a precious and safe natural environment which is especially appropriate for children. There are three bedrooms in the house, where up to eight people can be put up, as well as two bathrooms, a living-room with open kitchen, a porch and a small balcony upstairs.

Culatra Island is eight kilometres long and one kilometre wide, and consists of sand. There are two villages: Farol and Culatra, which is also the name of the island where our house is located. There are 300 houses, four supermarkets and eight bars and restaurants. It is at a less than ten minutes boat ride distance from Olhao and half an hour from Faro, the capital of the region. In those towns you can find museums, shops and the centre of interpretation of the Formosa Natural Park. There are also nearby golf courses, water parks and a marine zoo, where you can swim with dolphins. Cape San Vicente, which were believed the end of the word by the ancient Europeans, is a one and a half hour drive from Faro. The view is breathtaking and the coast is as precipitous as beautiful. Spain is fourty kilometres on the opposite direction. Seville is a one and a half hour drive. You can get this spectacular monumental town by coach from Olhao. It is absolutely well worth visiting.
