We live in a spacious 4 bedroom house, only a 10 minute walk to the city centre and 15 minutes walk to the rail station with frequent services to London (one hour away). The house built around 1900 has recently been renovated to a high standard. Downstairs there is a large modern kitchen/dining/family room, a living room, study with desk and piano, and downstairs WC. We also have a coat/boot room and laundry room on the ground floor. On the first floor there are three large double bedrooms and a bathroom, and on the top floor a very large master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The house is very well equipped for children/teenagers with plenty of books, bikes, Netflix subscription etc. A good sized garden with patio/seating area, BBQ and table tennis (ping pong) table. The garden backs onto the local park with many amenities including children's playground, outdoor pool, lake and tennis courts. There is also private parking for two cars - a rarity in central Oxford.

Our house is situated in Grandpont, a quiet residential area next to a local park with children's playground, open-air heated pool, splashpark and tennis. We are also only about 60m from the Thames river with riverside pubs, lovely walks, boat for hire and punting. Grandpont is a very friendly area with a lot of families. We are an easy 10-15 minute walk into central Oxford - a beautiful historic university town. A ten minute walk brings you to Christchurch cathedral and grounds , where you can walk along the river, hire a punt, and visit the botanic gardens. Younger members of the family may be interested to know that Christchurch Great Hall was the film setting for Hogwarts Hall. Oxford also has great museums (including the recently re-developed world-famous Ashmoleon), as well as wide choice of shops, restaurants, pubs, theatres, cinemas etc. We are a short 10 minute walk to the brand new Westgate centre, a very large shopping mall with a John Lewis department store, cinema and many restaurants/cocktail bars. There is also a stylish rooftop area with bars and restaurants that overlook the spires of Oxford https://westgateoxford.co.uk/. Oxford is very centrally located and a good base to explore the wider area. Aside from London, other destinations within easy reach are the beautiful Cotswolds (about 30 mins drive), Stratford (1 hour), Windsor castle (50 mins), Warwick castle (50 mins), Bath (one and a half hours), Harry Potter studio tours (1 hour), Legoland (50 mins). The south coast can be reached in around one and a half hours. All destinations are reachable by train as well as car. We also have bikes of various sizes, a great way of exploring the city.
