Our Apartment, is approx. 1700 sf with 2 large bedrooms and it has a distinctly loft like feeling with plenty of open space to relax. It was designed and beautifully furnished as an homage to 1950’s Brazilian modernism and animated by a love of tropical hardwoods, for which “Brazil” originally takes its name, and for which it is justly famous. Our building is a new tower of 51 stories which was completed in 2018 by a Swiss developer. It is located 500 meters from the beautiful crescent of Cabo Branco beach, on top of a bluff giving it mesmerizing views of the Atlantic Ocean and the beach below. The apartment is on the 23rd floor and has permanent, uninterrupted views of the ocean, all the way to Africa :) A large fully shaded terrace (217 sf) overlooks the ocean and opens directly to the Master Bedroom and the Living Room. The beauty of the view can’t be overstated – everyone who visits here and encounters the view - feels themselves suddenly go into slow motion and all conversation just stops for about ten minutes... It is an incredibly relaxing place to be. The apartment has great cross ventilation and located on the 23rd floor there is a constant sea breeze which flows through the rooms and which can be modulated however you like based on which windows you open. The building itself is the tallest in this region of Brazil and it is full of amenities. It has (3) pools which are located on the 3rd floor with views of the surrounding area. There is a childrens’ wading pool, an adult infinite edge pool and also an Olympic length lap pool. In addition there is an outdoor hot tub and a large jacuzzi. Bath and shower facilities are right there as well as a BBQ area and large shaded pergola area next to the pools. On the same floor there are lush rooftop gardens and goldfish pools, a full Kitchen and Dining area for entertaining, a large Home Cinema, a game area with Ping Pong and Pool tables, a futbol / basketball court and a large Party Space which is available for all residents. In the planning stage is a new residents’ gym which should be completed by the end of 2022. In addition, the two lower floors of the building house an open air shopping center with Restaurants, Pharmacy, Bakery, Pizzeria, steakhouse, outdoor dining, etc. At the top floor of the building is the Skybar and Restaurant which has become the city’s go-to place for romantic evenings and sunsets with 360 degree views of this garden city by the sea..

Joao Pessoa itself is the capitol of Paraiba State and it has all the amenities of a city with 800,000 inhabitants. It is well known to be one of the safest, greenest and best organized cities in Brazil. Many Brazilians from all over the country have recently chosen to retire here or buy vacation homes here. Interestingly, it is located at the easernmost point of S. America, and indeed all of the Americas. So the sun rises here first in all of the Americas! The city beaches are beautiful, clean and well organized with boardwalks, sports facilities, beach bars and restaurants. Night life is animated by the bars and restaurants in all of the beach neighborhoods and there is always live music anywhere you go. The beaches just south of the city are truly beautiful and justly famous in Brazil including – Praia Coqueirinho, Tambaba, Gramame, Praia Bela – all within 10 – 30 kilometers of the city. To the north, in the neighboring state of Rio Grande de Norte, there is the world class resort area Praia da Pipa – only one and a half hours drive away. Our neighborhood is called Alitplano do Cabo Branco – or Altiplano for short. In the last ten years it has developed as the premier luxury neighborhood of the City. The apartment buildings in the area are all new and well designed – with fabulous gardens and amenities similar to ours. The area is very safe and relaxed and has everything you need. There are two supermarkets within a couple blocks of our apartment and a third soon to open. A Patio brand shopping mall is around the corner. There are several excellent gym / academies, a clay court tennis center, and a major Beach Tennis center all within a couple blocks. Pharmacies, medical care, cafes, ice cream shoppes, and an excellent Cartorio / Notary are all here - with more businesses opening every month after the pandemic. It’s a very calm, beautiful and civilized neighborhood. Cabo Branco beach, which is the best urban beach - is just a ten minute walk. The other beach neighborhoods of Tambau, Manaira, Bessa, Intermares are just a $2 - $3 Uber ride away. We love this neighborhood. We used to live next to the beach in Cabo Branco – but we found the Altiplano area to be quieter, more relaxed, more beautiful, a few degrees cooler – and of course the amazing views of the ocean were the real deal maker.
