Lo que te va a encantar en esta casa

My home is in the heart of Stara Loka - the old town of medieval Skofja Loka - one of the oldest settlement in Slovenia. Situated across the street from Gostilna STARMAN (Tavern) - and the church. In my backyard the old castle - separated by a creek. My flat is cosy - full of light - and in the summer time a safe heaven from the heat out side due to thick walls and the position. My landlords, Mira and Tone are retired, but have been working in tourism for many years. Most warmhearted people you can find. Like the slovenes btw. Hospitality is the code name for this country more green and more beautiful than any other country in Europe. With 2,2 million inhabitants - land covered by forest, green valleys, alpine mountains - and clean streams all over the place. I am journalist and tour guide working in the green sustainable zone - It make be at ease to know that more than 500 brown bears, packs of wolves and the shy Lynx also inhabit the country side by side humans.

Lo que te va a encantar del barrio

Five minutes of walk and you are in the country side. 20 min more, you are in the forest. And if you like all sorts of active life, there is no better place to be. Triglav Nationalpark is just around the corner. The most green capital in Europe, Ljubljana, is 25 min. away. (Take the train - or bike!) The Adriatic sea is a max. 2 hours ride away. Italy. Austria. Istria. Croatia. All within reach. Did I say that Skofja Loka is the heart of the region? And we have a castle of course - and in case you are interested in culture and history; The oldest written book in Slovene language is preserved in the Kapuchiner Monastery 500 m. from me. Fancy art and craft? There are more than enough to dive into as well.
