Active Family likes the Beach, Bike Rides and Community Parks

We are a family with two small children, so our life is very home-centric, with fun activities mixed-in daily. The things we love to do are the things we do in our daily lives: go to the beach, the local parks, and take bike rides around our neighborhood. Aside of being with friends and family, these are our favorite simple, fun activities.

Our family of 4 (kids ages 9 and 5) exchanged with Madeline and her family Feb. 2014. We had a wonderful time! Their house is lovely--very beautiful, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. We immediately felt at home, as did our children. The house is located within walking distance of Carlsbad Village and the beach, and we spend many mornings walking down to get smoothies or coffee and walking along the ocean. It's also easily accessible to the freeway and we were at Legoland within minutes. Madeline and her family took great care of our house and we felt confident they would based on our ongoing communication leading up to and throughout the exchange. They are terrific people, and perhaps one day we'll get to meet in person! I highly recommend them as exchangers.

What we said about #452055's house:

We had a wonderful time in this lovely home. Communicating with Wendy was easy, and she was very friendly and thorough. We arrived to a clean, organized, comfortable home. We absolutely adored watching the sunsets over the bay. It was so fun to be able to have family and old friends over to the house to visit. We feel like we have made new friends in the Bay Area, even though we've never even met! Also, Wendy & her family definitely treated our own home as if it were their own. We would exchange with them again in a heartbeat!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Bernauer Family's lovely and conveniently located townhome! They, in turn, spent a week in my home and even with 2 small kids left the house in perfect shape and took very good care of my cat (a favorite new friend of their young daughter). We kept in touch with texts the entire time and plan to exchange again in the future -- this time adding each other's vehicles -- and look forward to meeting in person one day! Thanks, Bernhauers, for such a successful "first exchange!"

What we said about Frances's house:

Frances was gracious enough to do an exchange with us on relatively short notice. She was flexible, responsive and easy to communicate with. Her home is located in a beautiful historic neighborhood, with tree-lined streets and interesting homes all around. We were very comfortable there, and wish we had more time to stay longer. The interior definitely reflects a home filled with care and love. All of her furniture is so comfortable, and there are several nice areas to just sit and relax. The front living room is perfect for a quality visit with friends or family, or some quiet reading time. The kitchen is just the right size for making casual meals, and our kids enjoyed sitting at the breakfast bar. Both bathrooms have been designed very nicely, especial the master bath - it has a HUGE soaking tub and large glass shower. And what a perfect New Mexico backyard! We just loved sitting under the covered patio and watching the kids play. If you get a chance to exchange with Frances, I'd go for it! Happy Exchanging, Madeline & Family
