Enjoy life in a stylish environment
My name is Jean-Claude and I am 55. I work for an European Institution in Brussels as a Public Relation Officer having pleasure in organising face to face meetings for high ranking international guests.
I also used to be the manager of our building.
HOMEEXCHANGE appointed me Ambassador.
I have an unlimited passion for cooking, tennis & black & white photography (on film still!). Once a week, I am following professional cooking classes in a famous cooking school.
Possible car exchange.
I will take best care of your property as you will do with mine. I am a non smoker.
I love street photography in big cities but I also like tiny villages and their local life, food, craftmen off the beaten tracks.
My experience staying in Jean-Claude's apartment was very positive with respect to the apartment itself and to Jean-Claude being a wonderful host. I felt like we were friends before I met him upon his arrival in San Francisco! His apartment is open and light and very comfortable. I always looked forward to coming back to it at the end of a day of sightseeing. He was very helpful prior to and during my visit regarding anything I needed to make my stay enjoyable, even sending me some suggestions on things to do when it rained while I was there. He also told me about the Brussels Greeter program that offers free guides for visitors. The apartment is a bus ride away from the city center. The bus stop is conveniently located steps away from his apartment. I actually liked being away from the touristy area and seeing where people live and work. There is a market, shops and restaurants within walking distance. I tend to be very neat and particular and I was so happy to come home to a well cared for apartment. All in all, this exchange experience was one of the best that I have had and I highly recommend exchanging with Jean-Claude.
Evan's apartment is far nicer that it appears on the photos. It is indeed full of light but a warm and sweet light. You feel immediately at home! It is very clean and tidy with a special mention for subtle decoration, everything has really been chosen with taste and style. It has much more than one needs for a very comfortable stay. The location is a dream: short walking distance to the sea and marina as well as local groceries, supermarket, high end shops and plenty of coffee shops, restaurants menus' from around the world. I rented a bike for 10 days despite the hills you can avoid thanks to google maps (click on the cycling symbol). Overnight I parked my bike in her big garage. Last but not least, Evan is the most trustful person I ever met. Moreover, right from our 1st email she always showed highest interest in making my stay fruitful by giving most valuable information on many different issues. Needless to say that when I came back home my apartment was just as clean and tidy as when I left it. Thank you so much Evan, my door will always stay open for you, any time.
Upon entering the chic apartment of Jean Claude, we were delighted with the tasteful, modern furnishings, the cute terrace where we enjoyed breakfast each morning, the roomy kitchen with florentine tiles and most of all his superb photography! We enjoyed ammenities that are close to the bakery and food shopping as well as a garage for our car. A nice feel of Brussels!
"Trough skype phone calls and emails I had a very good feeling about Peter well before arrival in lovely Münster. My impressions were confirmed when I entered his bright and sunny house. Nothing is missing and the rooms are large and very clean. I felt like home immediately and enjoyed my stay very much. When back home I found my apartment just as clean and tidy as when I left it. Peter, you are welcome here any time again!"(May2010)
We had our first exchange with Jean-Claude and it was successful !We met briefly here in Paris and again in Brussels at the railwaystation on our way home. The contact was good, we loved Brussels and the appartement is just fabulous! It is located in a residential and green neigbourhood and allows very easy access to downtown. The appartment is luminous, very comfortable and large which makes it very pleasant. I warmly recommend it to anybody willing to visit Belgium! We also enjoyed Bruges very much which is less than an hour away by train.
On our first official home exchange, my family and I did not simply swap homes for a week-- we made a good friend! When my daughter and I reached the apartment that first early morning, Jean-Claude's neighbor was waiting for us with a key and fresh croissants, as well as Belgian beer and chocolate, which Jean-Claude had thoughtfully planned. That set the tone for what turned out to be a fabulous week. Jean-Claude's apartment is in a beautiful area, Uccle , and that location afforded us a glimpse of Brussels life we would never have otherwise seen. His apartment is immaculate and tastefully furnished, filled with his own beautiful black and white photographs. Jean-Claude provided us with important tips about restaurants, sights and transportation. We visited the new Magritte museum, and lovely Bruges. And when we left Brussels , we explored beautiful Luxembourg (2 hours by car) -- a place we had not previously considered -- because of Jean-Claude's advice. Jean-Claude is unfailingly helpful and courteous and I highly recommend his apartment for an exchange.
