We enjoyed our first home exchange a lot. As soon as we entered the apartment, we were surprised by the delightful lightness of the magnificent apartment in the heart of Lausanne, all day long. A nicely decorated and very stylish home, by the way, that really felt like a home. The owner, Joy, has a nice warm personality (and two lovely boys). She provided us with a nice surprise when we first entered as well as when returning home and took care of our home as we would do ourselves. Isn’t that what we all want? The city itself was also a very nice experience: we strolled around, from the nearby Mon Repos park (you look right into it from the apartment) up the hill onto the Sauvabelin park with its wooden tower (a marvelous view over the city, the lake Léman and the mountains). We enjoyed some geocaching there and went back down, all the way to the lakeside, where we wandered several times for many hours (our daughter appreciated watching the chess players deciding about their next move, and the ice creams). We even discovered a beach and witnessed a very nice sunset. Also, given Lausanne’s location, we went skiing one day just by taking the train, all up into the Leysin mountains in only 1,5h , great! Public transport is heaven here. Although we agreed to exchange our car as well, we didn’t need it at all. We exchanged homes for a great week! Thanks Joy for this very nice first home exchange experience! CATS from Antwerp
