This is truly a backyard paradise! The wonderful pool and spa are surrounded by comfortable seating and dining areas. We had great pool parties, sometimes before and after a day at the beach, which is minutes away. The beds are very comfortable and there is premium TV. We were very pleased with the exchange, especially since our cabin was left clean and tidy. The two cats were no problem and we enjoyed seeing their picture on our deck. We would love to exchange with Jerri again, anytime she needs a getaway to the mountains.

What we said about Ken and Sandy Elliott's house:

Many thanks to the Elliot Family for our exchange of July 2014. Their cabin is wonderful. It was like going back in time. I saw a wild turkey (right out the kitchen window), two bald eagles, and more Ospreys than I could count. The walk around the lake (4 miles) was magical. The cabin had everything one could need, with comfy beds, soft linens, and a great stone fireplace. Pine Crest Lake is a very friendly place. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to travel with my pets. Also, my thanks to them for leaving my home in great condition. They even watered my flowers in the backyard. I left them a welcome bottle of wine at my home, and to my delight, they left me a "thank you" bottle of wine on my return. How thoughtful! Ken and Sandy were so helpful and flexible, and it was a pleasure to exchange with him and his family. I highly recommend an exchange with them.

Wonderful house for an exchange. We enjoyed her backyard and the layout of her house. It was also located in a convenient place for all of our outings. Really can't say enough good things about this house. As for the owner, she was your typical home exchange person - very friendly, helpful, hospitable, kind ... a total pleasure to exchange with. She brought her two cats to our house for the exchange and we left our dog at our house. After discussing this option with her we were very comfortable with this arrangement going in to it. And we were very pleased to have our expectations met. It appears she took better care of our dog that we do (our dog got to go on many walks and out to lunch twice). As for her cats, there was no evidence they were ever in the house. I would strongly recommend her and her cats for any exchange without any reservation. All in all, another excellent exchange.

This well appointed home is in the upscale neighborhood of Carlsbad on a quite street so there is very little traffic noise! Just 4 blocks to the Grocery Store, Shopping and Movie Theatre but in a quite area very near the Freeway to area beaches, San Diego and Los Angeles. The house is very quiet. The back yard and pool area are completely private and the home is just a wonderful as in the photos! Amazing gourmet kitchen with all the supplies. The best bit is the Kitchen, Master Bedroom and TV room overlook the pool are and gardens in the back of the house! Birds are a delight to watch in the feeders hung around the property! Spa lovers will appreciate that the spa gets really HOT! This special home is not to be missed! Thanks for sharing your home with me Jerri!

Jerri's house is in a pleasant area in Carlsbad just a few minutes from the state beach. The backyard is depicted quite accurately in the pictures and is where we spent our evenings. Close enough for mountain and beach hiking as well as the wine tasting in Temecula and day trips to San Diego this is a very good exchange if you are interested in a taste of SOCAL. For my wife and I this trip was more about visiting friends and was ideally located. Note: If you dislike cat hair or dander there is no ready evidence of either in the home or in our home after Jerri and her two cats left. This is particularly important to my wife and I as my wife is quite allergic to cat dander and had no problems staying at Jerri's home. Note: Special thanks to her helpful neighbor for jump starting our crappy rental car.
