We're both academics. Daniel teaches History at the University of Oregon. Barbara was the director of Women's Studies at U of O for many years. She retired recently and has been writing fiction. An historical mystery novel, Cezanne's Quarry, will be published in June.
We've lived in Eugene for over thirty years, but we're both Easterners and have a daughter and many friends living in New York. Our interests tend toward the sedentary (books, movies, card playing) except for tennis.
Lucie the cat is a tabby, about three years old. She's indoor/outdoor. She's quite friendly to visitors but is generally a low-maintenance pet.
We've traveled pretty extensively. In addition to vacation travels, we've taught abroad in France, Italy, Denmark and Austria. We've had good experiences in temporary housing arrangements in these travels though we haven't yet done a home exchange.
