Feel at home in Rome!
My name is Andrea and my wife's name is Renata. I am a uni researcher in the field of Economic Science, while she is an architect. We have a child born in 2011 named Valerio. We are both very active: freeclimbers, skiers, scuba divers and tango dancers. We love modern art and music. I am very into jazz and classical music...while she definetely prefers indie and brasilian rhythms. But our biggest passion is exploring the world!

We exchanged with Frederic and Aurelie during easter holidays 2012. Their house in Cannes is extremely well located. Close to the centre but out of the crowd. it is just in front of the shore and near a beautifull beach. The house is cozy, comfortable and provided with everithing you may need, besides of being furnished with taste in a light and pleasant riviera style. Frederic, Aurelie and their children were very respectfull hosts of our house in Rome. We highly recommed the exchange if you have the opportunity
We have been staying at Andrea and Renata's house for two months now. We are extremely happy with the entire experience. A few highlights: - The House The house is comfortable and smartly laid out.The lower level has a very large living room, a small bathroom with shower, and the smaller bedroom. Upstairs is the eat-in kitchen, the large bedroom, and the large bathroom also with shower. The beautiful terrace is off the kitchen. Even in November, we find our ourselves on the terrace almost every day, having a meal, or a glass of wine, or using our laptops. - The Neighborhood Pigneto reminds me of some of the great neighborhoods in the US. It is a lot like Cambridge, in Boston; or Wicker Park in Chicago. Maybe even a less radical version of Berkeley. This is authentic living. There are no tourists, but you are very close to the center of Rome. Frankly, after two months in Pigneto, we don't make it to the Center very often; Pigneto is that charming. There are some wonderful restaurants in Pigneto that you probably never would have found during a normal tourist experience. And even besides the restaurants, it is a pleasure to explore all the little shops and outdoor markets, and to meet all the people. Even though the neighborhood is removed from the more touristy areas, there are still a lot of English speakers. (And if you're armed with a handful of Italian phrases, you'll get by no problem. The locals humor our terrible Italian, so they must be truly patient people!) - Andrea and Renata They have been great. We overlapped with them in Pigneto before they came to Boston, and they showed us around the neighborhood and around the house and thoughtfully anticipated any issues. During the exchange, we have been in touch with them with little questions, and they are always helpful. On their recommendations, we've been to a lot of places in Rome and outside, and have always had a great time. If you have the opportunity, we recommend an exchange!
We stayed at Andrea and Renata's home in Pigneto for 10 days and it was absolutely lovely. It's in a great location, as you can walk to the Tram in 5 minutes and that will take you to the Rome Termini. It's in a lovely neighbourhood and we loved the fact that it wasn't touristy as it's good to get away from that after a long day of sightseeing. It's very close to an Italian supermarket, as well as an amazing outdoor market that sets up nearby each morning. The home itself is very spacious and we loved the outdoor terrace. We were a family of three - 2 adults and an 8 year old child and it fit us perfectly. Andrea was always quick to respond to any questions we had and we also had their neighbour Carlo to help us out with questions on site. We loved the house and Pigneto and would recommend it to anyone considering a visit to Rome.
