Hello from Amsterdam!
We both have a background in political sciences and like travelling and experiencing local culture. My husband is now working as a nurse, I am working independently. Our 13-year old son wants to study archeology when he grows up;) and our 4-year old daughter loves to dance.
We have a cat, 'Bram de Grote de Eerste' who is loved by lots of neighbours but still prefers us:) and a dog: a lovely labradoodle puppy called Bobbi, nearly as smart as TinTin's little friend.
We've had a number of exchanges that pleased all of us a lot. So we are enthusiastic about possible future experiences! In the summer of 2016 we're travelling (without our pets) to New York from 20th of July to 10th of August and looking for a nice play to stay!
July 20 — August 10, 2016
A more or less simultaneous exchange is in this case preferred but not essential. We would love to spend some time in New York but also some time on Long Island!
December 28 — January 3, 2016 These dates are flexible
We would love to spend some time in Berlin this winter!
April 23 — May 8, 2016 These dates are flexible
We would love to spend some time in Portugal again, during these weeks our kids have schoolholidays and there's the party of the year in Amsterdam: Kings day!
February 27 — March 3, 2016 These dates are flexible
We would love to spend some time in London again, just for a (longer) weekend, preferably during school holidays! School holiday from 27th of February till the 6th of March would be perfect
February 27 — March 5, 2016
We would love to spend some time in Copenhagen, just for a (longer) weekend, preferably during school holidays! School holiday from 27th of February till the 6th of March would be perfect
We love secondhand markets, flea markets, art markets, local specialties, etc. So, your local tips are really welcome! We live really nearby the 'IJ-hallen'; a monthly market where really all Dutch people go if they are looking for or selling second hand stuff: from clothes to furniture!
We really have a very pleasant stay in Nathalie’s flat and house. The flat is pretty and so well located, in the central Amsterdam, with a splendid view on the canals, shops and bars around…. Such a good place to feel Amsterdam. The house is in the north of the town, a very nice house well equiped and confortable, with a garden. To get there you have to take the free ferry ; in the week, we did not grow tired of it. Every route is a trip, a quiet and beautyfull experience. We had a very good contact with Nathalie, she is very helpful with everything, both while planning the exchange, but also while we were in Amsterdam. I really recommand exchanging with Nathalie
We had an absolutely lovely time in Paris, with a very helpfull and friendly host in a lively Paris environment. With great croissants (and much more) around the corner and an early morning jogging experience around Montmartre!
