- Celine Vice Pricipal (41)
- Nathanaelle Child (5)
- Quentin IT Manager (36)
My wife is a vice principal in a High School located in the 12th district. Quentin is a manager in IT consulting for a large US based Company. We have a 5 years old daughter who learns english (mainly thanks to Dora the explorer).
We are both seasoned travelers and we see use home exchange as an opportunity to share with our daughter our love for travels and the spirit of cultural exchange and curiosity that revolves around it.
Everywhere we go, we like to put ourselves in the shoes of the locals and have a lifestyle as close as theirs.
Great experience! We had time to meet and learn about each other's country, and exchange information on our stay. The information given was very useful and when we arrived on site, more info was waiting for us: books like "Guide du Routard" and maps to help us see what was to visit around the area and in all Paris. Great spot, great people, would be great to do it again!
It was the first exchange for both of us and it was fantastic. We had the chance to meet and spend a few evenings with Daniel's family and get to know each others : we had a lot of fun, cooked for each others and learnt a lot of things about our respective countries. The house was really comfortable and Daniel really made everything to ease our stay, including finding bikes, a child seat for his car, driving us to and from the airport, and providing us with all the useful details about the house and the surroundings. Definitely a perfect spot if you need a break in the countryside. Looking forward to see you again sometime, maybe for a winter time exchange this time :)
We had a short, but very enjoyable stay. The castle is a stone throw away and a must see. Perfect spot if you're looking of a quiet, countryside pause.
Very nice stay : enjoyable house in the heights of Liege with a cute garden, ideal to kick back for a week end ! Very friendly family with a great sense of hospitality.
We had a more than wonderful stay in Paris! The apartment of Celine and Quentin is very convenient and cosy. Close to a lot of interesting places, or easy to reach by public transport. The neighborhood is nice as well. Boulangers around the corner, also other shops within a few steps. The communication with Quentin and Celine was very easy before and during our exchange. All suggestions we got from Quentin and Celine worked out very well.
Anne and Koen's appartment is ideally located for families, just next to Amsterdam's biggest park, in a quiet area, but still next to city center and convenience stores. The house is very well decorated and comfortable. Anne and Koen made us feel at home and made everything they could to accomodate our stay. They also took a great care of our home.
We really loved this exchange with Quentin & Céline. It was very easy to make arrangements with them: with Facetime and e-mail that worked very well. They were very helpful in providing information about parking and things to do. There home-manual (e-mailed on forehand) gave all the information needed about the house. The apartment itself was perfect for us. Very clean and cosy, a well equipped kitchen, toys for the kids, great bed and a nice hot shower and bath. We visited Paris before, but never have used the bus. Bus 69 stops in front of the house and brings you to all Paris' highlights as the centre Pompidou, Louvre, Eiffel Tower. But also the metro stops nearby. We loved the street, with the best bakery, 2 supermarkets and lots of take away food, from roasted chicken till Vietnamese bo bun. Quentin and Céline took very good care of our home and cats. When we got back, it was like they've never been here. Highly recommended and worth repeating!
If you are looking for a break from the noisy city, and enjoy countryside, look no further. Astrid and Misha's place is what you are looking for. They were very helpful arranging for the activities we were looking for like printing perfect jogging trails for our running distance (we used almost every day, it was perfect thanks ;) or making sure we could use their bike (loved the e-bike!). The house is comfortable and very pretty inside and out. We also loved the fireplace, and sleeping with the cats at our feet (funny how we can miss them after only a week). Gueulle is situated just next to the Meuse, right in the country side, but still close to sites worth a visit. Arranging the exchange with Astrid and Mischa was seamless, as they are seasoned exchangers, we found a clean house and returned to a clean house as well. Communication was also perfect. I would highly recommend them, we wish we could have met in real life, but it was a short week. Maybe next time, looking forward to it.
The apartment is good for 2 to 4 people. For Parisian standards is a big apartment, big kitchen and it doesn't get very hot in the summer. The elevator was very useful as we had a stroller. You can find many restaurants and markets very close. This part of Paris is very culturally diverse. Quentin, Celine and their charming daughter are very friendly and helpful. From our side, they took good care of our house and car. We found it back in the same condition we left it.
