Exchange Reviews

We have just returned from a fantastic exchange in Emigration ...

We have just returned from a fantastic exchange in Emigration Canyon, just 15 minutes from Salt Lake City. Rods home is located in idyllic surroundings. The location is very special. The early morning and late afternoon "light spectacles" are something that we will remember for many years to come. Rods home was just fantastic. It was very warm and comfortable and we had everything that we required. Our primary reason for the exchange was to ski Little Cottonwood and Big Cottonwood Canyons. We spent multiple days skiing Alta, Snowbird, Solitude and Brighton resorts. We had a fantastic time skiing the famous Utah powder. We have skied for 35 years and were not disappointed! Rod is the most incredible host. This was a non simultaneous exchange and we got to spend some time with Rod. He has the most incredible passion for life and adventure and he is a fantastic guy. He was just so helpful. He even spent a day snowshoeing with us, taking us to one of his Canyon walks. We really appreciated his assistance and friendship. If you are after a nice restaurant cafe to visit, try the Sun and the Moon, just 2 miles from Rods. Our skiing days were followed by a "session" in the hot tub, always on the lookout for moose or deer that live in the surrounds. The late afternoon light on the surrounding mountains was very special. Make sure that you ask Rod where to buy discount lift passes for each of the resorts. The discount given basically paid for lunch. This exchange was very special. We met a great guy, lived in idyllic surroundings and most of all we had a great time. We look forward to welcoming Rod to Yamba Australia in the future.

What we said about Garry and Mas's house:

My most recent guests, Garry and Mas, of Yamba, Australia, are an affirmation of what an incredible resource HomeExchange is. While for most of us, the initial attractiveness for HE is the ability to "make yourself at home....anywhere in the world", this service transcends and personifies the experience by linking people from various parts of the world and providing the opportunity for both parties to learn of one-another's countries, cultures and simply to meet wonderful people with like interests. Garry and Mas were terrific in every respect, from our 1st email inquiries thru to our final dinner prior to their departure to home--Australia. They cared for my home as it was theirs. I learned more about Australia in 10 days than an entire lifetime. We greatly enjoyed one-another's company in activities ranging from snowshoeing to dinners with them. I am very much looking forward to visiting their beautiful home with a most scenic backdrop/surroundings in Yamba, Australia as we complete our non-simultaneous exchange. I highly recommend them for the joy and spirit of what HomeExchange was built on. Cheers, Rod
