We are a six members family, but we just travel with the younger ones, Candela and Fernando, 12 and 9 years respectively. We all love reading, films, music, Art and History. We also love doing family activities like biking, hiking and travelling. Our children are very used to travel, they are respectful and well-behaved.
Mamen and family were perfect exchange partners. They appreciated and looked after our home very well and made sure that we had all we needed in Spain during this non simultaneous exchange. We experienced an excellent two weeks at their apartment at Costa Ballena which is close to Rota and about a 90 minute drive from Seville airport. The apartment is part of a pleasant development in a gated compound which was very quiet when we were there in mid September. The resort has a number of open air pools, an indoor pool, a gym and a sauna, is adjacent to a golf course and is a short walk/cycle/drive from the beach. There are numerous places to visit including Rota, Jerez, Cadiz and even Gibraltar. We concluded our stay with 2 nights in Seville and really enjoyed our first visit to this wonderful city.
We have spent a fantastic time in Somerset and basically because we have found the best hosts we could have thought of. Tony and Tina have a very stylish, comfortable, cozy and clean house. There are double beds in three very spacious bedrooms. Two bathrooms upstairs, one of them huge. My favourite place was the kitchen, it's so cozy! I loved to have breakfast reading and watching the sun in the back garden. We felt like at home since the first moment we got in. Before we went to Somerset, they sent us a lot of information of the surroundings but once we got there, they provided us with a lot of brochures, leaflets and maps that have been very helpful during our stay in England. Evercreech is a quiet little village. It was fabulous to have the supermarket just right across the street, open until 10 p.m. everyday. They were really friendly at The Bell, the local pub. We have travelled with our children (9 and 12 years old) and they loved to go around "to investigate", as they said. The village is perfectly located to visit Wells, Glastonbury, the Cheddar Gorge, Bath, Bristol, Stonehenge... We've also visited Cardiff, in Wales. It has been a pleasure to spend this summer in Somerset and we thank Tony and Tina for their contributions to it.
