Up for a swap in Copenhagen?
My name is Ellen. I'm a translator and make my living mainly from doing Danish subtitles for tv and movies. I have lived in Copenhagen for more than 25 years and I'm in love with my city, which is especially attractive in summer.
I initially joined HomeExchange.com in the hope that I would find people like myself who were self-employed and location independent, as I wanted to explore the possibility of exchanging homes for longer periods and combining work and travelling. But I also love going on real vacations and big city weekends.
I've had some great experiences travelling in this way both on my own and in the company of others and I’m looking forward to so much more.

I love exploring local markets and preparing all kinds of delicious meals out of produce found in the area.
Our first home exchange with a danish woman from Copanhagen turned ou to be a great experience! We are very content and above that we are happy to call this time a very special time of our life. The exchange flat was very tidy and clean. I could list all the "typical" must-be`s now, but I leave it with: Imagine it just perfect. On the table in the livingroom we were welcomed by a personal note, delicious chocolate and chips. The area: wunderful, culturally interesting, Museums, cafes, design shops and especially the childfriendly environment. Back home we came into our flat in Berlin cleaner than we used to see it. If there was a maximum in points to evaluate this exchange, I would give the highest number of points! We are fans of home exchange now!
Before my exchange in Berlin I had the pleasure of meeting Alex, who came to Copenhagen a couple of weeks in advance to work on a research project. He arrived on a long board with a usb-device loaded with music for me as a gift! I have done a lot of exchanges with people but that was a first for me :-) My mail correspondance about the practical things with his wife Adelina assures me that she is just as sweet and nice as Alex. They are both very responsible. They live in a quiet residential area just around the corner from the U-Bahn, with a beautiful green view from the back side of the hiouse and a nice balcony in front, a bright living room AND a great coffee maker! One of the great features of exchaning with Alex and Adelina are the two bikes in the back yard. I highly recommend future exchangers to profit from them. And all in all I can only recommend exchanging with #245825 Wilmersdorf if you are going to Berlin. Ellen Mygind Copenhagen, Denmark
We made our first exchange with Ellen. She is a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor. We had a fluent conversation by email before, during and after our exchange. She wrote us about the practical things but above all she gave us very useful information about places to visit, restaurants, etc. She left the appartment completely clean and tidy. After this exchange we decided to continue swaping our home.
Arrate and Andres must be among the sweetest people I have ever exchanged with. Their home is nice and tidy and they made a big effort to make me feel at home right away. When there was a small problem with the wifi they made sure that it was fixed within a very short time. Thanks to Andres and his bike I was able to explore the city on wheels. San Sebastian is a beautiful city with white sandy beaches, great bikelanes and not the least the delicate local tapas called pintxos. The train station is right around the corner, so don't miss the picturesque ride along the coast to Bilbao. It takes forever but the scenery is beautiful. I returned to an impeccably nice and clean home and I can only recommend A&A as the perfect exchangers!
Charming and cosy apartment in Vesterbro: actually the most interesting neighborhood of Copenhagen. Great location: a perfect base for walking to every part of the city and also very close to central station for one day trips. Ellen spoiled us borrowing her 2 bikes: we enjoyed a lot taking long rides up and down the city. She has been very kind taking care of our cats (and plants) and leaving our flat in a perfect state. Very happy to have exchanged with her. #32120
This is by far the the most charming flat I have ever exchanged with, including the most fantastic enourmous roof terrace complete with shower, outdoor kitchen, view to Etna and a whole exotic garden of plants, trees and vegetables. Massimo and Angela received me with a fridge filled with local vegetables and homebaked bread. They have been extremely generous and helpful to make our stay pleasant both before and during the exchange. Catania is also a very interesting city. Ellen #70030
