experienced Exchangers who now want to see more of Australia as a local.
We have been married since February 1973. We retired in 2010 and love to travel and explore new places both in Australia and overseas. We recently travelled overseas to Denmark, England and Norway for 3 months using HomeExchange. We have now had 11 exchanges overseas and 1 in Australia. In 2016 we wish to see more of Australia as a local. Melbourne in January is our preference to watch the Australian Open Tennis.
January 17 — January 27, 2016 These dates are flexible
We would love to go to the Australian Open tennis, hence our specific dates. We would only attend for a few days so dates and length of stay are flexible. We can have either simultaneous or non simultaneous exchange.
We love to walk and or tour close to our destination to fully appreciate a small area and live like a local. Car exchange is preferred to get around the district.
As our daughter and her family live in Brisbane we constantly look for new opportunities to enhance our trips. We are no longer tourists visiting the Gold Coast. Barb & Ian's home is comfortable and a perfect location for day trips to all the Gold Coast beaches and Hinterland, with a 50 minute highway drive into Brisbane.
We stayed 8 nights in Barb and Ian's lovely home in a non simultaneous exchange. We enjoyed every minute - The house is large and has everything you may need. The back garden is very private with a lovely pool that we used every day. We also enjoyed cooked breakfast on the BBQ and everything was very easy as the house is well equipped. The location is quiet but still very close to Surfers Paradise and all the theme parks which was a great hit with the kids. All communication with Ian and Barb went without any problems. They were there giving us a warm welcome and showing us around. They took us for a drive to see some local sights and we enjoyed a lovely lunch together at the surf club, which was great. Barb and Ian have just stayed 8 nights at our house in Denmark. It was great to see them again and luckily we got to spend some time together. They left our house spotless and we can highly recommend exchanging with Barb and Ian :)
