We love mixing with locals to understand the people of the world.Sometimes it's a bit hard because we look quite Mediterranean, but we keep trying!
This beautiful house was a perfect place to be for us to explore Andalucia. It was situated in a nice and friendly neighborhood. Busses, swimming pool and trains were within walking distance. The contact with the owners was easy. We immediately had a good feeling about our exchange and they never disappointed us. The day we arrived, we found a fridge full with food. The house was very clean and comfortable and so was ours when we returned. Shops were in the neighborhood and information about things to do was available. Antequera is also a nice place to be, a few tourists and very friendly people. We recommend this house if you want to explore this part of Spain!
We had lots of previous mails and even a phone call. They always sounded friendly and warm, answering all our questions kindly. Our plane was delayed several hours and nevertheless a member of the family was waiting for us. The house is lovely and clean, wonderful garden and neighbourhood with many shops , bank, and bus stop at a stone's throw. You can easily travel around the Netherlands since Amsterdam is just 25 minutes by train. They left us a folder with plenty of information about what to do and instructions for the electric appliances. When we arrived home our house was perfect, clean and with lots of food in the fridge. This is an example of how perfect strangers become far-away friends.
Make this exchange with Isabel and Martin was the great idea of the year. Of course the area is wonderful and there is lot of things to do and visit in Andalusia. At the beginning we were worried about the weather in August. But the house is very confortable and not hot at all, we did not suffer of hot temperatures even kids (we have 3 kids: 7, 4 and 1 and half years old). The house is just perfect for a family and Isabel and Martin are very nice and welcomed host. We had great time in Antequera and be back home in Paris in our flat in a perfect state was just de cherry on the top of the cake.
We have just come back from our holidays in Paris. We stayed at Vince and Sophi's comfortable home; they live in a very original neighbourhood, with real French people, not just tourists, therefore you can see how life is there. Plenty of places to do your shopping and eat out, and what's more important, close to a metro station only one stop away from Nation. They left us a lot of tips about their neighbourhood and they also kept in touch with us by mail solving in minutes any question /doubt we had while living in Paris. If you are in a familiy with kids the area and the house are very much kid friendly. They do own a cat but since my husband is allergic they were so nice as to take it somewhere while we were there. They made sure there was someone welcoming us with the keys, a very nice lady: Vence's mother, who explained us everything about the house. In the fridge Sophie had a home-made quiche waiting for us! Just to finish, remark that their girls were very well behaved ,they left my daughter's toys well organised and pictures for us.
The house of Isabel and Martin is very comfortable and build to stay cool even in summer. We appreciated the gifts and the easy communication with them. The neighbours are very kind people too and it is a domestic area. The Antequera Golf hotel is a 3 min. walking and has great facilities and a beautiful swimming pool and at a small fee, they treat you like a real guest. Antequera is a beautiful place in the center of Andalucia: the beaches and main cities are easy to access. We really enjoyed this exchange and were pleased to find our place in Brussels well maintained at our return.
We spent three wonderful weeks in Antequera. Martin & Isabel house is lovely, with everything you could need for a great holiday, It was in a perfect location to explore Andalusia. Antequera is also a lovely historical city with many interesting things to visit (Churches, castles, natural park). The swimming pools were also close to the house and the children enjoyed them very much ! We had a great contact with Martin & Isabel and the exchange was easy to organize. Thank you ! shany & Emilie
Nantes is a wonderful town to get the most of France and relax. So many parks and walks, no rush but a lively city, history around you,no long queues... just enjoy what you see and also what you eat!! Nantes is also well connected with buses and trains if you feel like exploring. Shany,Emily and the kids are very experienced exchangers who made our life quite easy; the contact with them was always fast and their house is really a place where you feel welcome and in contact with nature.Everything is very practical and well organised, too. Their neighbourhood is connected to the city centre by a frequent bus, just a 10 minutes ride. Supermarkets and small shops with friendly people are also very close to the house. When we came back home everything was perfectly tidy and cared for. It is a pleasure to exchange with people like this, you feel not at all like a visitor but like a friend.Thank you.
We spent two lovely weeks in this house and had a lovey holiday. Isabel and Martin were very kind and very helpful. Their house was very clean and comfortable when we arrived and our house was in great condition when we arrived home. Antequerra is a very interesting town, with plenty of history and a good few sites to visit. The dolmens and the castle are especially interesting. It is far enough away from the sea that the humidity is not so much of a problem, but close enough for day trips to the beach. The house is comfortable and not as warm as most houses in Southern Spain. We visited in August. During the day we used the a/c in the sitting room on some days, but usually not for long. At night we needed the a/c in the master bedroom for an hour but not for all night. The street is in a family neighbourhood, and our kids (age 6 and 8) soon made friends with the neighbours. After that they were in and out of each other's houses all day long!
